That's my point. Miles/Studrawa are even worse.

You could bring in Petrino, Payton, whoever. Until Miles relinquishes control of the O, this is what we are going to get. Ive been saying it and I stand by it, Les needs to find his Lesticles again. Thats when he is at his best. He isnt his best at trying to outcoach someone.

That is what I see as well. Lesticles, the "Mad Hatter" took leave in 2010 and needs to reappear.

Hiring a new OC will not help. This is Les Miles' offense and I don't think there is any question about that. In order to fix the situation, Miles has to realize that there is a problem. He seems to think the offensive scheme is just fine... the players just need to execute better. I agree that the players are not performing up to their potential and injuries have really hurt us this season but the problem is bigger than that. This offense is broken. We don't use players in a way that takes advantage of their strengths. We seem to have a limited number of plays that make into the gameplan each week and there are NEVER any in game adjustments. We also make the same mistakes over and over again week after week... that is a lack of coaching.

I don't want Les to be fired. He does so many things right that it would be insane to fire him. I just wish he wasn't so damn hardheaded.

He took leave since the '07 championship. I think Miles doesnt like all the attention. ESPN calling him the "Mad Hatter" and "the Hat," has bothered him IMO. Since that season he has played everything uber conservative. Never taking any chances since that season. It seems to me he is dead set on coaching a conservative style to shut up those talking heads. In order to even possibly beat S Carolina and Bama, LSU will have to mix it up better and take some chances.

If we are going to start looking for an offensive coordinator I'd like to throw Shannon Dawson's name in the hat. He is currently the OC at West Virginia but he is also a native of Clinton, Louisiana. Shannon played QB at Winthrop College under Dana Holgerson. Shannon was OC at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX before going to West Virginia. He was the WR coach last year and was promoted to OC during the off season. While the offense they run is Holgersons I think Dawson could bring some excitement and change of pace to our offense.

I'd also take a good look at Oklahoma State's OC and Baylor's OC...both lost their QB to the 1st Round and both are currently #1 and #2 in the nation in both scoring O and total O

OSU's Todd Monken is an LSU guy. Les hired him when Les was coach at OSU, and he followed Les to LSU (At LSU from 2005-06, Monken developed Skyler Green, Dwayne Bowe and Buster Davis...in 2006, the 3 combined for 180 receptions for 2,598 yards). He then went to the NFL before OSU got him as OC

As for Baylor OC Phillip Montgomery, he was great at Houston and then Baylor
