Come to think of it, our DEs are pretty fast again this year, even if some of the LBs aren't. I have a feeling, though, that Welter is going to get passed up soon, and the faster, more talented guys like Kwon are going to take over. Chavis has a lot of toys to play with. No worries.
I'm hoping you guys are right, but that is my one and only concern with them. That and Ricky Seal-Jones being a monster receiver, but I think the Jalen's have that shit covered
He will tear through most of the SEC, but I'm not personally too worried about him. We handled Boykin ok(didn't lose to him), and he's more explosive than Manziel. The speed of our LBs hasn't really changed much from last year; if anything, I'd say we got a little faster with Minter gone and having smaller guys step in. I think our ends are a bigger problem; Hunter, Allen, and Rasco are NOT fast. I think our coverage holds it together long enough on their end on most plays to avoid any scrambling throws downfield. I think he's gonna get beat by 'Bama, but that's just me. Sure, their LBs are somewhat slower than ours, but they're bigger and extremely disciplined. But that doesn't mean we can't beat them too.
Is it strange that I feel A&M's offense is more Jalen Collins scares me deep. Especially if Loston is supposed to cover the back end. That's trouble waiting to happen. Jalen Mills is money all over the field. Collins is great within 20 yards but he can't cover the deep ball, and Loston has been out of position before on the deep ball. I'm waiting for the emergence of Tredavious White. Hopefully we can get him in as well, but unless Collins just keeps getting burned or gets hurt, I don't see White playing much because Micah Eugene is our nickel back.
A&M definitely has more on offense, but it doesn't really scare me. I have full faith in Collins to cover the deep ball. Loston's the SS, not the FS, so he probably don't be covering the back end much unless we're in man, in which case a deep ball should have a corner on the WR already. Now I don't know what to expect from Martin because he hasn't played all that much up to now, but I just like our corners too much to worry about their WRs. They'll catch balls when Manziel scrambles until they get open, but I don't see their WRs continuously beating our corners. There's also the fact that they gave up 31 points to Rice that is comforting.
Peterson played in all 13 games, but didn't see his first start until until the third to last game (vs. Troy on Nov 15, 2008) of his freshman season.
