$100 Texas Tech beats Alabama in the bowl game loser makes the drive. But to be honest with you, I travel through Tuscalooser about once a week so I may be able to collect fairly easy without making you pay the gas too. Even though...
Terry, I am not sure when the decision on that bowl will come down. Do you or RedElephants know? I don't think bama can keep up with that offense either, which is why I am all over the bet.
You've gone from red to green today....'grats to ya :yelwink2: Coach Moore has been asking for the Cotton for weeks now. I wrote an article on how I didn't want Bama to face Tx. Tech last Sept...and got flamed for it like you wouldn't believe. I'm puling stats up right now...their D is allowing about 20 pts a game just like our offense avg. (including games with the whole O working) I'm hoping the backup is allowed to play a lot. Honestly, just let the young guys have this game...although, Shula let the young ones practice as 1st teamers the entire week (1st week) last year and we lost that one.
Terry, the whole red/green dot doesn't mean much to me but I appreciate you mentioning it. I got the red dots from fellow LSU posters not liking the fact that I don't care much for Les Miles. I didn't think it was a good hire for LSU and still don't. I appreciate what our team has done this year but long term I feel we are going to regret it. That is a very unpopular thing to say around here. Any type of negative comments will get you crucified because after all you can't judge him negatively because it is his first year here but we can heap plenty of praise on him because it is his first year. In other words for most posters on this board things are only allowed to go one way and one way only. I am sure you got flamed for the article you wrote. I am complaining about the way these LSU "fans" are taking to what I said or really what I didn't say (I never really got into why I said I didn't like him, I just said it) but living here in Birimingham one must not cross the line with Bama. Bama fans do not take comments lightly as I am sure you found out if you said something about a Texas Tech game. If you can find the link I would love to read what you wrote.
$100...It's a bet. My take on the Texas Tech/Bama probable Cotton Bowl matchup... You can look at their offense and know that they can score. Key is that they line up 4 and 5 wide. We have the DB's to cover and very good safeties. This leaves the line very vulnerable to our Dline and the blitz. They haven't seen an SEC defense like this yet. I think the pressure from Gilberry and Anderson will pressure him into throwing some INT's. On the offensive side of the ball...First things first, they dont have the Dline that LSU nor AU has so that makes it somewhat easier. Still, we are very weak on the Oline so I suspect Darby to get LOTS of carries so we can control the clock and keep their O off the field. Plus, they allow 160 ypg rushing...(key stat) I also think it will be a good game and honestly, I think we will win mostly because they haven't seen pressure like they will from our defense.
Leach will gameplan Shula out of existence. They will quick-drop and throw short passes right down the field. Your only chance is to keep TT's offense off of the field. I don't see that happening, and Brodie and the gang should continue their losing ways. 38-10 TTU.
Couple of notes... The players have been told to expect the Cotton with Tx Tech. I know Moore has been after that game for a while now...I just wish we could face OU instead. (a great home and home series with those guys) Got a note on Tebow...he's been working out with the Jaguars a lot this year and to a man they tell him to go to Bama. It's his best chance for what he wants. IE: Early playing time and a offense that fits with what NFL coaches want. The guy has been a life long Gator fan...and that's about the only thing I worry about. It's about like Brodie...who was going to FSU until Richt took the UGA job...and with recruiting, it's all fluid. I almost want part of this action, BTW. BUT, I don't bet Bama. I did take Arkansas and the points but that only levels taking Ole Miss and the points the week before. Carson...you in T-town or B-ham?
