I'm thinking about buying some Tulane tix but the only ones available are in section 632...in the nosebleeds. I clicked on the "first-person view" picture and it doesn't look that bad, but I thought I'd get your perspectives first.
I sit in 612, about 6 rows up, pretty much opposite the stadium as 632. It's not as bad (to me) as everyone says. I like it because I can see the entire field, including both sidelines. it's like watching a big screen TV. When I get home for lunch, I'll post a picture or 2... I have some somewhere. Here's the view from 632 according to LSUSports.net
Cool, thanks! Like I said, the first person view didn't look that bad. Is it as loud up there as it is closer to the field? Can you see the scoreboard okay? Can you hear the band okay? Can you tell where the ball is? I really don't know...LOL. I've never sat that far back before...been lucky enough to find decent tix to games from season ticket holders.
I sat about 3 rows from the top of the upper-deck once. I did not like it at all. I could not hear the band and it was hard to get the feel of the cheering like in the lower bowl. I would rather tailgate and watch on a tv outside the stadium. The experience was made worse by sitting next to bums from Arkansas.
It's pretty loud, but not like in the bowl.. However when the crowd starts making noise, you can feel the stands shake a little. The scoreboard will not be hard to see for anyone this year, particularly the north (right side from that picture)... It's now an 80 ft wide, 30 ft tall HD screen. I used to have problems hearing the band on the west side, but that was because they were beneath it. However, last year they moved the band to the north end-zone and I think it was an improvement. I could hear them really well last year. You should be able to see where the ball is, as well as who's involved in a given play... I've never had issues seeing the plays develop from up there either. But, if you want to see the cheerleaders really well, you're gonna need some binoculars.
I've been almost exactly where you are. If you like the full-field perspective, where you can see pass coverage and downfield blocks developing, its great. But you're awfully far back, binoculars are almost a must. Its pretty quiet up there; you'll here the band clearly (if I'm seeing the stadium right, those seats are visitor's side, right?) but not very loud. And you'll see insects flying around the lights of a size and variety you did not know existed.
save your money, you will most assuredly be able to pick up better seats than that for face value on game day
My Arkansas tickets are up there, so I was wondering how the seats are. My 8-year-old said she doesn't care as long as she's in the stadium.
I sit in the first few rows of the East Upper and I have been asked to upgrade to the lower bowl and haven't do so. However I sat half way up for the Saints game and was miserable.
