usually left scratching my head. i think gumbo is always trying to outthink the room and misses the mark mostly. which is upsetting. i cant really hate him as much as id like not knowing for sure what he means.
really? you cant think of any examples in history where a large segment (even a majority) of society were wrong/ immoral? what is so difficult about that? i really hope i dont have do give specific examples particularly when some of those here lived right in the middle of a great example. "fox is popular so they cant be racist" cmon.
Fox News gets front row White House seat - Yahoo! News You people still think that CNN/FOX/MSNBC/yadda yadda yadda are really that different from one another in the grand scheme of things?? Interesting. I know, I know... what do I mean by "you people"??
I wonder what the Penguin -- I mean Helen Thomas -- thinks about her retirement opening a spot on the front row for Fox.
that clearly isnt true, most people, myself included are racist. if fox were racist, and the espoused viewpoints whish were racist, but not to the extent that it were obvious, people would love it. it would confirm their biases. i am not saying they are, nor would i care if they were. but being racist doesnt necessarily make you unpopular.
If most people are racist, then racism has little meaning and this is a dumb conversation. I don't buy it. I would buy that most people are predjudiced towards certain combinations of group categories (gender, religion, race, ethnicity, age, etc.) But I don't buy that most people are racist in the sense that they would full-up discriminate. I don't buy that most people even approach that idea.
