    Depends on the kid.

If they are actually interested in the game, then no.

But if you just can't find a babysitter, then yes.

Not necessarily. If the child is not willing to sit and enjoy the game and insists on going to the concourse to buy a hot dog or drink every 5 minutes please spare the people sitting next to you and not bring them. Watch a few games on TV or go to a local high school game before to see if your child is going to be able to handle it.

only if he/she cant behave himself. I've seen younger kids have a great time and older kids make a game a living hell for a parent. Use your better judgment and be prepared to walk out at halftime or earlier if things aren't working out. Your fellow fans will be grateful.

Also, try a weak game first if your thinking about taking him/her to a big game. UL or Vandy would make a good barometer and you can probably find tix for cheap before the game.

Oh yeah, and be prepared to spend a whole lot of money on concessions, kids have a tendency to not be hungry at all until right after you take your seat:wave:

I brought my 2 and a half year old daughter to the Tulane game last year. She was golden: enjoyed watching Mike, eating popcorn and in general just sat and watched. But I'm sure it depends on the child.

I would, however recommend bringing them to one of the predicted blow-outs rather than a Florida or equivalent game. You are not going to want to figure out that your kid can't handle it in the 2nd quarter of a Tiger beat down on Teblow.

as long as you don't evacuate your 3 bedroom home to a one bedroom apartment the night before, then have to sit in 150 degree heat for a 10am game, you should be good to geaux.

    ok, seriously.
I brought my oldest son to a handful of games in '06. He was 5 at the time. He's been to several games each year since. Not a terrible experience yet. Although during the game tying drive in the final minutes of regulation vs Ole Piss ('06), he decided it was time to drop a deuce.
So I watched most of that drive on them little TVs down by the bathroom.

Last year was my youngest 1st game. He was a couple months shy of 4 for the App. St. game.
Not pleasant, but that was more due to the circumstances. We were all but forced out of the house the night before, and it was the hottest I've ever felt Death Valley. Kids were miserable. Wife and I were wondering when/if we were gonna get to go home, game was a rather boring blow out.
Took him to a few games since. Apparently he's horrible luck, because our record ain't real pretty with him in the stadium, but he enjoys the games, and is no worse than when taking him anywhere else in public.

We took our 6 year old daughter last year. She rolled down the Indian Mounds for hours prior to the game and was ready to go home at half time. Might of had something to do with the temperature inside stadium.

That being said our 8-9 year old really enjoys the game. That is probably the right age.

Bingo, it's temperament, not age. Bottom line is that the kid wants to be there and is well-behaved. Whether they actually like the game or just watch the cheerleaders isn't as important. What is important is that they allow Mom and Dad to watch the game and don't annoy the other fans there to watch the game. I've seen 3-year-olds sit quietly and take it all in. I've seen 12-year-olds bouncing off the wall and annoying everyone around them. I wanted to inject him with a pint of ritalin.
