Jefferson Quotes Between SECCG and BCSCG How would you feel about Jefferson's comment about putting the team on his back in ATL if you were on team? I'm not questioning the competitiveness of anyone on the team that they would try to show him up the next time, on the biggest stage at the National Championship, but I know I would be pretty ticked off. Especially considering how little he had to do with them being there compared to so many others. The second quote which made me cringe was "if we beat this team I think we will go down as the greatest team ever." Seriously? If you feel that way just save it until after the game! I don't recall any other players offering such borderline bulletin board material. I remember some players (Claiborne, Mathieu?) painting #9 on their arms against Oregon, etc. but I can't believe there would be legitimate dissension between the team over the QB. It's obvious from comments of the players that Lee prepared as if he could play, but was it really just a stubborn Miles who kept him out? And oh who's the TE wide open to the left on the INT? Clement? That hurts. And sorry if this is a duplicate post. I haven't read all the threads here. I don't usually go to forums but I need to organize and share some thoughts so I signed up here. :geaux:
I think there was dissension, and again, I think, that JJ got playing time due to either threats or strong vibe that certain other players would either quit or something. There is something insidious at work here, and if not dealt with, in the open, it will carry over to next year, and ruin next year's season, too.
Watched every single pass play again and if you look across the middle the TE was wide open every single time
I believe JJ said that after the 11/5 Bama game, not the SEC Championship. The Honey Badger made a comment like that, however, after the Arkansas and UGA games. The team had always seemed to rally around JJ. No one seemed to rally around anything the other night. As for bulletin board material, our players offered plenty--how about Will Blackwell's "we thing Bama doesn't deserve to be here" line?
Blackwell said that a week or two ago (and on College Gameday), and yes, JJ said it after the 11/5 game.
I just can't buy it. Youre not saying that he left in JJ to prove to the team he knows best are you lol?
