Re: How will we do this season? Your thoughts... Matt Flynn was an unproven QB in 2007, with his one stellar performance coming in a 35+ pt romping of an ACC team in the Peach Bowl. I'm just sayin'. . . Also, as far as UW being the 'most improved' team, they went 0-12 last year. So, they could win 5 games this year and be a shoo-in for 'most improved.' Slouches. We'll bury them.
Re: How will we do this season? Your thoughts... And we'd better do just that. All year, our score against them will be compared to USC's score against them.
I see 16 Seniors that will either start or see significant playing time this year. I don't think leadership will be a problem this year. WR B. Lafell TE R. Dickson LT C. Black RG L. Hitt RB C. Scott RB K. Williams WR T. Holliday WR R.J. Jackson WR C. Mitchell DE R. Alem DT C. Alexander LB J. Cutrera LB P. Riley LB H. Coleman CB C. Hawkins S D. McCray The reason I mention the number of seniors- look at the positions they play, and they're contributions to the LSU Football program so far. We will be "damn strong" this year! A trip to Atlanta and/or 10 wins are both totally possible. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I'm pretty sure you're not paying Les for 7-5 seasons and a trip to the Peach Bowl... AN SEC west division championship is mandatory for the hat, as he doesn't lack for ingredients. The question is can he make better soup with his fixins than Petrino or Nutt?
false, corn stalk. we pay him to compete for the sec each year with an occasional NC sighting. are you paying ferentz 3 mill for 8th, 5th and 4th in a mediocre conference the last 3 years? he received a 7 yr extension for that.
the ****ty thing is that last season was an aberration. there is no way LSU does that badly with the talent they have. but it happened. we play that season again with a new defensive philosophy and we beat BAMA and Arkansas at least. and that's with lee starting all games. now, this season, i can see four losses and that's with LSU firing on all cylinders. the SEC is tough. two losses was all it took in '07, i think we can do that. it all depends on the UF game, IMO. i'd feel better losing to UF and then beating them in the SECCG. i don't think we can sweep UF. now, this team may prove me wrong though, they certainly have the talent. we'll have to see how everything pans out. Washington - should be a nice W on the road Vanderbilt - hopefully a dominant home opener with another W USL - this game will be tough, i hope our guys can pull it out. W :hihi: good chance to see what shepherd has State - their team may be improved, but this will be another sleeper. W UGA - hopefully by this game (after four easy games) we'll have an idea of this team's mantra. no stafford, i say we win by a squeaker (since it's bw the hedges) W UF - this is going to be one of the best games in TS history. book it. seriously have no idea what to expect at this point but let's say we lose a close game. L good time for bye, i think. Auburn - who knows, right? these games are always close but this is in TS so let's say W. Tulane - snore fest. W. maybe shepherd can show us some more fireworks. BAMA - i think that we'll win. BAMA was exposed last season, we almost beat them with all of our problems. we'll be better and don't think that they will necessarily be that improved. W. La Tech - this will be a fun game. i think tech will have a nice season and that they'll beat auburn. we still win big. remember last time we beat tech on homecoming? :crystal: W. Old Piss - yeah, snead got game, but not this time padnuh. W Arkansas - i really have no idea. i'd like to think that we'd win this game, but let's just say that we happen to lose (not that i think ark has a shot, but just because i think we'll lose a game in the west.) L. well, we're sitting at 10-2 and we won the west. can we beat UF in a rematch? can we figure out how to stop tebow and the percy harvin reincarnate andre debose? i hope someone clotheslines that punk and make him see p&g for the next few seasons. o: even if we lose i think that we can still win our bowl game which would put us back to 11 wins. anything else is lagniappe. :geauxtige:lsup:LSU!:LSU231:
i hope youre right, but i dont expect a blow out. i think jj will have to be pretty sharp for a young qb early in the season. vandy's front 7 will be good.
Well, if you believe in the odd years as being an indicator then your optimism is boosted even more. There will be a lot of senior leadership on this team and a good mix of young talent. To me though, there are just too many difficult games on the schedule this year to realistically expect better than 10-2. 9-3 is what I believe will likely be the regular season results.
