there's too many "what ifs" this year. the sched doesn't help (i.e. both bama and fla get their bye week before playing us). i don't think 9-3 or 8-4 is disappointing if you realize that we're starting a soph qb and just hired a new DC.

i'll go with 9-3 to be optimistic but one game above or below that wouldn't surprise me.

i'll say it one more time. this will be a decent year. '10 and '11 will be special years.

You guys are too hung up with last year's disappointing campaign. The two things that killed us last season have been addressed (INTs and Def Coord). The DL will step it up with a couple of young guys breaking out in fine LSU tradition. So I will make my annual prediction of an undefeated season!

14-0. After a narrow win against UF, we hammer everyone else and give UF an unparalleled beat down to decide the MNC in the SECC game. We then move on to destroy a typically overrated Big 10 or 12 team in the BCS MNC game. Total domination starts after the UF game. LSU! :LSU231:

Oh, and we don't have any injuries the entire season...

Im with u on this one I believe that we have just as good of chance as Florida, and as in 03 with there senior QB will narrow beat them in TS but woop them bad in ATL. That is my prediction Im going to change the champship game a lil I like to take USCw for our third crystal:crystal:.

    Mark, I like this optimism!

I don't know if I'm going to go this far out on the limb, but I feel like we'll field a special, damn strong team in '09. The Peach Bowl showed that we still had athletes last year to compete with anyone. We had a plethora of internal issues that kept us down.

I hope that we've thrown that off this offseason. The reports out of SEC Media Days had me really excited that we're lean and mean and focused this year. And if we can avoid any hurricanes this season, that wouldn't hurt, either.

I think we lose to florida and thats it.

SECC Lsu 11-1 vs florida 12-0

We beat florida and with the every other top ten team having 2 or more loses sets up a rubber match for the national championship

    Lsu 12-1 vs floria 12-1

I had this same exact scenario in my head just a day or so ago. It's highly unlikely, but really interesting to think about.

If Jefferson is a stud like I think he is, then we'll have a really good year and maybe win the West. If he's average like many people think simply bc he's "young", then we could lose 3-4 games.

The D will certainly be better bc we don't have idiots coaching it anymore, but I'm not sold on Chavis as an elite DC. But yes, he is much better than what we had, and I liked the move to get him.

I think that all of the SEC coaches are aware of the possibility of a Wild Tiger formation. That was one of my first thoughts about how CLM is going to utilize Russell Shepard when I heard that JJ was named starting QB.
