    From the Times Picayune:

Recruits on LSU's nose-dive this season:

RS: "It makes it even more appealing to me," said Shepard ... "It's going to be kind of like open tryouts for quarterback, and my name is definitely going to be in it."

Chris Garrett: "I trust the coaches and have all the confidence in the world they are going to put things back on the map," Garrett said. "The quarterback position wasn't very stable. The best player will play, and I look forward to being in the competition."

Chris Davenport (5-star): "It hasn't changed my train of thought about coming there," Davenport said. "They had problems at the quarterback position and the secondary. It was just a rebuilding year for them. A lot of schools are going to be going through rebuilding years next year."

LSU recruiting coordinator Josh Henson said he's still getting positive vibes from the 20 commitments and the players still being pursued by the Tigers.

What exactly are the rules for the limits on offers per year? I know that in some way, last years totals are taken into account.Didn't Alabama sign 32 last year? What's our absolute limit this year?

You can only have 25 people enroll in the fall. You can have 29 sign a scholarship on signing day, but out of those extra four players some will have to either enroll early, not qualify, greyshirt...

Thanks, I get it now. Is there some kind of overall number for all players on scholarship regardless of class?

85 scholarship limit. That is how people can predict a class size.

If we get Randle, look to LSU to finish in the top 3.

Im expecting a very good 2-5. Theres a slight chance that Ford or/and Debose(if he signs with LSU) will get their 5th star. I doubt we get any surprises from a 5 star, like MacFarland. No matter what this is an excellent class with a lot of versatility. A very athletic class. Hopefully we get another good LB or two.

    A very balanced class

    #1 S in the nation
#6 CB in the nation (could climb higher)
    #5 DT in the nation
    #1 WR in the nation
    #3 WR in the nation
#2 WR in the nation (from 2 years ago)
#2 QB in the nation (#1 dual threat)
    #5 OT in the nation
    #4 FB in the nation
#9 RB in the nation (will end up top 4)
#8 ATH in the nation (Pratt)
#9 ATH in the nation (Calhoun)
    #9 SDE in the nation

    Nasty class.

Versatility is a good word to use in describing this class. You can never go wrong with bringing in verastile athletes.
