When LSU lost to Ole Miss a of the LSU Fans thought that LSU will lose some recruits. When I was read some of the recruiting Message Boards. It looks like Coach Miles and the Coaching Staff has done a bang up job in keeping all of the Commitments at bay.

I think LSU will finish off this recruiting year with a bang. LSU will get Randle and Mingo (in state) and I bet LSU will pick up a few out of state recruits also.

Anybody has any comments about how this recruiting year will finish?

Top 3 class and could be higher with a few big ones close to NSD.

Think we will land Randle, Loston, Mingo, and Debose.

Other great possibilities: Jarvis Jones or Stewart, Myles or Johns, Logan, Montgomery, Stinson, Dye, and Filo.

    Benton - 5 star
    Randle - 5 star
    Loston - 5 star
Debose - oh so close to 5 star
    Mingo - 4 star
    Dye/Montgomery/Stinson/Logan - 4 star or 3 star (we're getting one)
    Jones/Bostic/Telfort/Stewart - 4 star (we're getting one)
Myles/Armstrong/Johns - 4 star or 3 star (we might pass up on this)

28 max in the class, might lose Allen to make it 27. Su'a Filo is possible and will likely take his mission and won't count in the class anyway.

LSU will have between 4 and 7 five star players

Top 2 class, probably just behind USC, unless Ford gets a 5th star which is most likely, then LSU will finish #1. USC projects to getting 5 five star players.

If LSU can max out and get all the five star players listed (at least 6 five star), we will end up around 3100-3200 points on rivals, easily eclipsing the most points ever generated by any class in recruiting history (since the rankings were used).

Worst case, lose Randle, Ford and Debose don't get a 5th star and Benton doesn't get counted towards the 09 class, LSU finishes top 5 easily.

:geaux: Easily Top 5 with Randle, Loston, Debose, Mingo, Benton and some of the others mentioned in previous posts. From what's been posted Benton will enroll at LSU January and be part of the class. The big wild card of course is Randle and I just don't feel we'll land him. Hope we do, but just have a feeling he'll go elsewhere. If he does, I just hope it ain't 'Bama. Even losing RR, we could still be in the Top 5 assuming we get most/all of the others mentioned. Having said that, my hats off to the staff for keeping all the commitments on board during a difficult finish to the regular season. Feel like if we were going to lose any it would have already happened. Could we still lose anyone if we lose to GA. Tech in the bowl game? Anyway, when all the dust settles I believe LSU will be just fine with this class. :LSU231:

:geaux: Hadn't heard there was a danger of losing Allen, what's the scoop. Hope we don't. Was looking forward to seeing him at FB. :LSU231:

No tangible evidence other than knowing that Kiffen is going after this kid hard.

Allen says he is all LSU, but things could change with illusions of grandeur promised over at Tennessee.

I think more scholarships will be available than we think right now. If someone we really want is available and willing to sign with us, coach Miles will make something open up; Especially the last couple of weeks before signing day when the "wait till the last minute and see who's going where" recruits start looking at new opportunities. One or two juniors might not return. One or two transfers could occur. I don't think we'll be as limited by numbers as some others.

With all the early recruiting going on with the 2010 class, That class has to be taken into consideration now -case in point Christine Michael vs. next year's Lache Seastrunk.

I think we'll finish top three or four. Anywhere in the top seven or even eight is a coinflip. Either way we won't be adressing needs if we don't get speedy linebackers that can cover. Right now, adressing needs is more important than stargazing.

Regardless of how high we finish in recruiting rankings, we need coaches that can develop whomever we sign. Coaches and LBs are what I want for Christmas

LSU is still limited by the maximum of 25 that can count towards this years class by the NCAA. Su'a Filo taking a mission would allow him to sign but not count, but unless someone counts against last years class or is placed in JUCO or greyshirts the 25 limit stands. I don't see LSU signing more than 26-27 no matter how many slots open up.
