I cannot prove a negative. Can you offer proof that the stimulus did not prevent hurricanes in Louisiana (Damn. I'm starting to sound like martin)?
People who are searching for excuses to believe silly things frequently make this statement. I can prove a negative easily. Seven is not equal to five. Aristotle did not watch Star Trek. Certainly. I can prove that economic conditions have nothing to do with the physics of hurricane creation.
What a lame response. What "liberal rags"? And yes I can back up what causes hurricanes . . . and it ain't the economy. But you don't really want me to do that, do you.
You say the stimulus prevented a depression and your proof is that we are not in a depression. You want me to back up my skepticism by proving that it did not prevent a depression. I cannot. No one could. I can prove, however, that the stimulus at least contributed to the high unemployment rate.
As well as raising the baseline for future budgets which was their only goal anyway. How much can we grow the govt.?
