It was a great movie for it's time especially for kids. I would expect everyone to eventually grow up and move on one day though.:insane:

It's hard to let go of some things that really moved you as a child. Star Wars is one for me, as is Flash Gordon, GI Joe, Transformers, Lord of the Rings etc.... It's an escape from the real world.....

You have no case. Make a list of fascists and they are right-wing extremists.

That was my thing. I see very few movies, but the ones I do see are not sci-fi.

If it involves superheroes, vampires, outer space, monsters, excessive gratuitous murders (chainsaw stuff), etc., I won't even think about it.

Star Wars is like a western on a strange set in a galaxy far, far away.

It was a radical departure from earlier SCi-Fi. If it seems ordinary now, it is because it has influenced all subsequent Sci-Fi films.

Good analogy, I always thought Han Solo was an intergalactic cowboy. The mos eisley scene in a new hope was evident of that. going into the bar blasting the bad guy at the table, then tossing a coin to the bartender for the mess.

It worked better in Lonesome Dove.

I love how threads evolve here. From Fox Fear Factory to intergalactic cowboys!
