JJ will also be on a short leash. How about JJ thinking if I make a mistake, I'll get boo'ed quick by the so called fans.....
I agree. Right now I gotta believe this is exactly what Miles and staff want Jefferson's presence to accomplish. I get a feeling there will be no rhyme or reason on when they may stick him in. We will find out a lot more on Saturday. Let the frustrations begin. :geauxtige :geauxtige
And here I thought this was going to be a less anxiety ridden (for me) season ;p~ *heads to liquor store across the lake to stock up ETA: MEANING because of the possible 'no rhyme or reason' scenario proposed
Welcome to posting...:thumb: Now, I agree there were certainly a lot of drops...I agree with at least 6 or 7. That said, what I personally noticed wasn't his completion % being down. I noticed him throwing off his back foot even worse than he has been. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I've NEVER seen JL throw off his back foot that much...and he's done it since he's been at LSU. But Saturday was worse. As stated, there were balls that should have been caught. But I gotta tell ya, there were at least two completions that would've been picked if KY had LSU's secondary. He did not play well...drops aside. And that's from someone who thinks he should be the starter unless he's injured.
I'm very worried about JL. I think his confidence peaked during the Miss St game, before the talk of JJ having the charges reduced and his getting back onto the practice field. Since then, I've noticed a definite change in his comfort level when he drops back to pass. He's quick to release, looks anxious about getting hit. Some of his passes have been high and frankly would have been picked off by better defenses. I think he "feels" JJ on his tail, and in his mind, he thinks that his receivers would rather be catching JJ's passes rather than his. It's like - getting to go to the dance with the homecoming queen, only because her boyfriend got sick. You have a wonderful time with her, but in reality - it's only a matter of time before he gets well, and he's back in the picture and you're gonna be out. Not a good feeling. Just my opinion.
:geauxtige I agree with what you've said. I also believe that he feels JJ and CLM looking over his shoulder. What is up with JL rolling out of the pocket last week against Kentucky. JL looked hyper and out of sync. On some of the dropped balls he seemed to overthrow a bit causing a couple of the passes to be dropped. Yes, they are supposed to catch those passes but they just seemed to be thrown really hard with no touch. I don't feel like he throws well on the rollout. After watching JL's interview this week talking about JJ, I really hope he continues to be the starter. He is a class kid with a lot of guts. I believe JJ will come in on situations and at least 3 series. JJ has been Les's boy for a long time now and that won't change.
I think we are looking at both qb's playing. Dual quarterback system again. Personally, I would like Mett to get some game time in but I know that won't happen.
At least a few series or maybe more if Lee is cold. I think run first then pass. Florida has had over 200+ rushings yards in every game this year. Run the ball with our 5 backs and close the door.
