I haven't really given this much thought. I am pretty sure that Miles wants to force the Gators defense to practice against a running QB. So of course Miles has stated he will share playing time. But will that really happen should Lee be on his game? Secondly, are we going to resort to last year's QB shuffle with Hatch coming in for a play or 2 on a series, or does he play an entire series or 2? Time to weigh in.
I'm sure Hatch will see some playing time just to give the Gators a different look on office. How much depends a lot on Lee.
That's my guess, and I hope it is that way I think Hatch could be very effective running the option against this D. Look what Ole Miss' unorthodox offense did against them.
In the Wednesday Les Miles radio show, he said he weas going to put Hatch in to play the 3rd and 6th series of the game. Do I believe him? No. I think it's more of a ploy to make CUM practice for Hatch. The truth is, if LSU is moving the ball without any problems with Lee, he's going to go through the entire game. Possibly might see Hatch for a trick play like on the goal line play of JJ but that's it. The 1st Qtr will be a big factor in seeing if Hatch plays or not. If Lee comes out and is rolling, I highly doubt Miles pulls him and risk breaking his stride.
disagree. hatch will be in to show different looks to keep the florida def somewhat offbalanced. crowton uses this to set up other plays later regardless how well the offense is working. gotta stay a step ahead for the times you need it later.
Given the fact that our gameplan, due to our effective running game so far this season, is to control the clock and T.O.P., I would imagine Hatch would get a decent amount of playing time due to his ability in the running game. I wouldn't be surprised if he tallied roughly 20 snaps in this game. That number might even increase depending on the score and if we're up. I don't like "sitting" on a lead. I think that philosophy loses you more games than it actually wins. However, if you're up by a couple of scores, and it's mid-way in the 3rd quarter, I don't see anything wrong with dedicating at least ONE series to work on the clock. Even if a drive results in a punt, as long as you get one first down, you can, in theory, run almost 3:30 to 4:00 off the game clock.
