Okay, maybe no need...but there is cause. See Louisiana Tech.

I think he's done. And that's unfortunate. If he gets an opportunity and he shows and proves, then great. I like my crow blackened with some Louisiana hot sauce on the side. If not, then hopefully we can put an end to the calls for his activity.

My whole point is, people are trashing JJ after an improved game and asking for JLee. Really??? I know, players can improve. But sometimes, a guy is so shell-shocked that all hope is lost. We'll probably find out because JJ hasn't learned how to slide yet.

So you trash Lee for a game he played last year? I don't buy it, 'nupe. Lee's problem was throwing it into coverage and Jefferson's problem was being too timid and taking sacks. Somehow Lee is too "shell-shocked" to be any better than last year. Why is Jefferson alone capable of improving?

Jefferson is getting opportunities to improve and Lee is not. So be it, someone has to be the starter. But Jefferson must make something happen offensively with those opportunities. Else, like anyone on the team, other players will get a shot.

I'm not calling for Lee, actually. But if Jefferson is not setting the world on fire, we need for the other QB to get some PT and show us where he is at. We have lost quarterbacks to injury in more seasons than not in the last decade. The first time we see Lee doesn't need to be when the conference in on the line in November.

Lee imo has a better arm than JJ, but he takes too many chances trying to squeeze it into places he shouldn't try and throw it... the other flip side is JJ who is gun shy and doesn't check off his recievers and tries to use his legs as his first line of attack. There needs to be a happy medium but unfortuantely we don't have a middle area QB right now.

Patrick Peterson and the return game had something to do with LSU's lack of offensive yards. Our average starting position was the 49 yard line. Wow. There were alot of positives to take from this game.

    1. Russell Shepard is the real deal. Anyone who thinks he was fragile like myself got a dose of meds, because he got lit up, got up and scored 2 touchdowns. Man i am glad we have this kid.

    2. Jordan looked a little better, albeit not much, but he is still a capable quarterback, he is still good in completion pct, red zone, and td to int ratio. still needs to work on a quicker release and going through his reads.

    3. The D line and the O line looked a hell of a lot better. Hell we have 1 less sack already than we had through 7 games last year. Not too shabby for a relatively young D line.

    4. Special Teams was great, except i think Jasper must have been hung over or something, missed a FG and kicked a kick off out of bounds. Great punt though.

    5. said it in a couple of earlier threads, Tyrann Mathieu played amazing for his first game, lets hope this kid can continue.

the negatives have already been discussed over and over, so i will stay away.

That's sad hoping for 1 Tiger to fail so the other can get the koodos. I hope for the opposite. If we see Lee at all this season I hope he rips up the field and embarrasses every defense we face, and hopefully he'll be applauded heavily to make up for the boos, and especially the cheering when he got hurt. He doesn't deserve that treatment... he was literally the sacrificial lamb in '08. As much as I am sure he wanted to succeed, he wasn't set up to in the slightest bit.

I agree. J-Lee suffered from a lack of coaching, damaged confidence, and first-year mistakes. I think he had the talent and ability to compete...but he was an easy scapegoat for the fans to turn on. He played hard and left everything on the field.

He may be too far gone now, though. The Tech game last year was just pitiful.

    That's my feeling.

Sacraficial lamb or not, I'm not hoping to see him just because it would make for a good comeback story. I'm jittery just thinking about him touching the field.

And you guys are missing the point. I'm not tearing the kid down. I'm pointing out the obvious. It's not his fault. He was the "escape goat" (lol) in '08, then when we saw him again against TECH, he was horrible. I think he's too far gone, but I hope I'm wrong. I also hope we don't have to see him for any important minutes.

Tearing a kid down is ignoring the obvious improvements QB1 made. He made two glaring mistakes. That's obvious. But it's hard to make a case for no progression after a 71% completion day that included two catchable drops. He did a lot of things well that a lot of people are ignoring. But it's almost as if people are placing blame for a poor second half solely on him when noone independent of him was very good either (RB's, defense, coaching/playcalling). If this team keeps winning, I suspect most of you guys will forget what you've said about him in game 1.

I can agree with that...and again, I hope I'm wrong about JLee. A lot of that will depend on the defense. If JJ is playing well but the defense is giving up points, we still might not know what we have in JLee. So here's hoping the defense improves mightily from Game 1. An '07 situation would be nice. Perriloux played even when Flynn was playing well and the game was tight and we were better for it. But let's be honest here. If JJ is playing well, the game is close, and JLee trots out there so coaches can see where he's at, how many of us will be excited?

That's not when you put in a reserve. You play him when you're ahead 30-10 in the 4th quarter with the offense flat and needing some rejuvenation.
