And you're a fan of Hawthorne? Both are awful options. Danielson and Verne are god awful, but Hawthorne is no better. I wish I could say at least Hawthorne knows the players names and numbers, but uh....
the pass to shepard was completely his fault and i'm surprised he even came close to making the catch that's why I said jefferson only really had 2 drops instead of the 3 that there actually were. And i'll agree with you that Jefferson needs to get a little more accurate, I guess I just mistook what you were specifically talking about. Not sure how I did that because I just reread what you said and it's obvious what you meant.
Good point you bring up. Where is the check down with JJ? With every pass play, there is a check down. Why is that failing us? JJ should never be forced to take that long to decide? You're right, he has to have an internal clock going off in his head that tells him he needs to decide where he is going with the ball. I am not sure if I have ever seen JJ throw to a check down. This bothers me.
They share blame. It was a poor pass making Shepard go up and break his stride, but it was also a poor reception. Shepard could have had it, he had both hands on it.
The play looked ugly and I don't think it was executed like it was drawn up. I think JJ's hesitance threw the whole timing off.
I really can't disagree with any of this, nice assessment. What would help our O-line is to take the power running plays completely out of the playbook. That won't happen cause Miles is stuck in the stone ages, but it should happen. We should run the ball in passing formations, i.e. 3-4 WR sets. Spread the defense out and utilize our speed at the skill positions. Not only would that improve our running game, but that would help out the passing game too. And as you know Izzy, I wasn't thrilled when we hired Chavis and he hasn't done anything to prove me wrong. This bend but don't break defense is for pu$$ies. I want a defense that other teams fear. Hell, i want a team that other teams fear, not make fun of.
I never said I was a fan of Hawthorne, but if I have to listen to someone butcher commentary, I'd rather it be an LSU homer than a snarky jacka$$ and a guy more and more resembling a human toad employed by CBS.
I don't know Hawthorne is frightenly bad. You don't know what happened till the next play is set. He follows Jon Fergurson who never know where the ball was. I don't know how Doug Moreau doesn't strangle him. He is the DA and could get out of it. Let's get JC Politz back. Listen to his call of Cannon's punt return a thing of beauty.:geaux:
