    good thread and a wee bit depressing.

    i chose loston starting and lee burning a redshirt only. PP should be all american but once again will be passed over.

    Some of the choices are a bit ambitious. I believe Patrick Peterson will be a 1st team all-american based on hype mainly. He won't have a season as great statistically as people think but he will still dominate.

    2 RB's over 1000 yards? We struggle having just one and with this O-line I'm not sure we will even have that.

    Things that surprise me about the poll results so far:

    1. Mike Ford > 1000 yards is only at 23% (13/56). I thought more folks would question Murphy and Ridley's health enough to wager that Ford would get enough carries to break 1000 yards. Since Miles is emphasizing the run this season, supposedly, you gotta think somebody is gonna get a lot of carries. Depends on the OL - maybe that's what's keeping people from choosing that one.

    2. With all the talk about Mingo and Adams and Montgomery being speed demons around the edge, I thought for sure more folks would've selected LSU to be in the top 3 for sacks. (11/56) 19%.

    3. Only 9/56 (6%) think Shepard will be discussed in Heisman talk by season's end. I guess last year's ineptness is guiding that reluctance. Personally, I think Shepard is gonna bust it up this season in all purpose yards.

    1. I believe Ford will get carries but hopefully our O-line can block well enough for him to get an effective YPC or else it won't matter much.

    2. I think it has more to do with the defensive schemes. Alem couldn't do squat last year despite being a good pass rusher.

    3. If Percy Harvin can't get no Heisman love I don't think Russell Shepard stands a chance. He'd have to have like a 1000 yard receiving, 500 yard rushing, plus some punt returns for TD's to be in the question. That's a lot to put on just one player when we have a lot of talent spread around.

    Good grief we think too much alike.

    I voted Peterson for all-american. I don't think it will be because of his lack of play that he doesn't get it, more likely they'll stiff him for the honor.

    Lee burning redshirt was my only other consideration, then I remembered who our head coach was and came back to reality. The other Lee will throw 19 interceptions before Zach gets a shot.

    If we lead the league in ints, it will be because whoever starts opposite Peterson steps up big-time. PP will rarely see the ball come his way, IMO.
