BS. This is only true for the small percentage of football fans that have something against Miles...something that they will never get over, regardless of how much success he has. The 'majority of college football fans' were watching when Les beat down one of the supposed premier college football coaches in America in this year's NCG. Anyone with a semi-respectable football IQ no longer questions his coaching capabilities.

I really don't even think that you believe this tripe.

That's when you know you're in trouble.

That is definitely a winnable game for Bama. Most of what I've read about Tennessee this Spring hasn't been great.

No win is guaranteed - especially not in the SEC. I expect Bama to play us tough but LSU to come out on top.

    I could easily see that.

Arkansas slept walked through the first few games of the season last year - their program was in such disarray with Nutt that I'm amazed he got it turned around.

I think Bama will mostly hold the Clemson backs in check, but that will be more because of Clemson's poor to mediocre OLine. I still don't think that will be enough.

BTW, didn't you say that everyone was going to be looking at Miles last year, after losing 4 first round draft picks.

If Miles wins a NC in 2 years, it'll be because little Nicky farted on the practice fields and his presence is still contributing to Miles and LSU's success.

Ok, your players did not "buy into Saban's process" last year but somehow this year they will? You keep poormouthin us about your lack of talent and how it has not been developed, but the influx of your true freshman class will change this overnight? Or has Saban finally reached the depths of this young men and taught them to win? And if you don't win? Will we hear about how you have no talent, Shula taught them to lose, and just wait until those freshmen get in to the system? Is that about right?

You pretend that the effects of last year's team(as if they are all gone) can be put in a vacuum. No team can do this, because you only graduate, kick off, or get so many players arrested in one year. Admittedly at bama, that can be a higher percentage than others, but...

See how the thinly veiled shot works both ways Terry?

An easy victory over the #1 team in the country is impressive and despite their youth and performance, Ohio St. is an impressive team. They will be in the mix again next year. Where will you be? Still smirking at all the teams ranked above you? Come talk crap when you guys even sniff climbing into the top 10, much less finishing #1.

Your true colors are showing Terry.
It doesn't fit into your concept of how last year was an aberration, and Saban controls all in his domain, so you won't admit it means anything. Keep on believing that. Many of the same players will be there. The same ones that either gave up or didn't have the ability in the first place. Maybe Saban will overcome it or maybe he won't, but it remains to be seen. If it wasn't a factor for teams, why did Ohio St. try so hard to change their routine for last year's BCSC? Because mentally, the year before was a factor for them. One they did not overcome I might add. Perhaps everything works differently in bama.

Of course we will. Because despite your protestations about what a fair minded bama fan you really are(I have some friends that are, so they do exist), you really are no different than all your other internet brethren. Bitter, and unable to be gracious in defeat. There are still doubters out there(noticeably they are fans of teams he has beaten) about Miles, but with each passing day they look more shrill and delusional than ever.

    Good luck with that.

We did lose in Tiger Stadium last year, and it hurt. We then proceeded to go on to the SECC and win it with a hurt backup qb. Fate smiled on us and propelled us into the NC, which we handily won. What did you do after losing to us in your house? You promptly lost the next three games. If I were you, I would be less concerned about what a team of winners(that would be us), does after a tough loss because we already proved it. Bama on the other hand...

That's how the majority of people remember our team. Winning the NC. How do the majority of non bama fans remember you guys? I was at your bowl game and I can't even recall who you played, but I sure remember ULM. And I doubt any bama fan will forget it any time soon either, despite your ability to easily write it off here. Like it or not, Saban will have the pressure on him, and the honeymoon won't last forever.

No matter how I look at it, Bama at this point is not as good on paper as UGA, AU, LSU, Tenn., MSU and Clemson. They will give a bunch of playing time to freshmen but that won't pay off until the following season. I see them losing at least 5 games next season, maybe pulling off one upset vs. UT and then losing to OM or Ark.

Notre Dame I don't care enough about to predict anything, but do hope they do not reach the 9 win mark and get invited to a major BCS bowl, knowing full well that if they are eligible they will get one of the first invites due to their fan support.

Wow, ..... I had to check the date on this post to make certain it wasn't from two years ago. While TerryP's statement might hold true for the seasonal fan, it is an absurd statement when coming from a knowledgeable CFB fan ...... or did I miss the memo that TerryP now speaks "for the majority" of CFB fans?

There have been plenty of Miles detractors in the past, but there are few doubts remaining that Miles is capable of delivering the hardware. There are a lot of haters that just can't seem to accept that Miles proved all of them dead wrong.

For some of us, there was never any doubt about Miles' abilities ....... even when he was coaching OSU.

Friggin' yeah! Any time you beat the #1 team in the country its a big one. Doing it in the championship game is impressive by all standards but your own.

You don't get to speak for" the majority of college football fans", only for yourself. What more could the man do than what he has done here? You just can't back off your oft-uttered, deep-seated disrespect for Les as a coach and you give him credit for nothing.

We lost in Tiger Stadium to Arkansas last year and still won the national championship! Believe it or not, LSU's success this season is not based on Nick or Bama at all. We have to play contenders like Georgia, Auburn and Florida. Neither we, nor the "college football landscape" will much care. Nick got beat in his own stadium in last year's matchup. Did anybody care?

It ain't Les that has something to prove this season, it's Nick.

Can one of the mods please correct the thread title.

My name is Izzy, and I suffer from anal retentiveness.

I don't want people coming into our house thinking we got 8 year olds starting threads. :hihi:
