I don't think it matters. Even with a sweep they're still 10 and a half out and they haven't shown the ability to beat anyone on a consistent basis. Right now, the starting pitching is holding up, even with the injuries, but nobody is hitting. If the batters get hot, they'll still have trouble holding a lead because the bullpen sucks. I never thought I'd see the day when I'm nervous with Mo Rivera in there trying to hold on to a 3 run lead.
As soon as George Costanza left 'em, the Yankees haven't won JACK. Coincidence? I think not. In fact, pretty soon the Yanks front office could be suffering from shrinkage factor too... :hihi:
I agree that in the grand scheme of things, this series is irrelevant. but if the BoSox pull of the sweep, it will be the 2nd time it happens this year, and they will be 16.5 out in the first week of June. I'm not sure the Boss could stomach that.
Might need more than one of those, the way things are going. Edit: Yanks off to a good start in this one. Wakefield got roughed up a bit, Snyder is in now, and not doing a whole lot better. 9-3 Yanks in the 5th.
