Notice that the majority of the running plays come in the first half of the play-by-play. Notice that we were down 20-0 in the beginning of the game. At that point, you realize it's not working and you have to pass it, which he called more plays for. All of our TD drives had more pass plays than running plays.

Of course, but that doesn't change the fact that we did not fail against Florida because we ran the ball on first and second down all night. Regardless, we weren't going to run all over them that night. That was pretty obvious early on. I thought we should have stuck with the run a little longer, but that wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game.

Tonight, however, I felt like we could have controlled the game with our running game. I think we threw the ball more than we had too. I thought it was silly to throw the ball on the first play of the game. I thought the first down throw that got picked late in the second quarter was foolish and unnecessary. Those two plays might have been the difference in the game.

I like Crowton. I think he's a great play caller. However, I think he should dial things down a try to win games on the ground this year (I thought the game winning pass on first down against Auburn was ridiculous). I think that would eliminate some of the QB mistakes and make things easier for our defense.

This sums up the offensive problem right there. We don't keep the ball out of the hands of the opposing offense enough by running the ball and taking time off the clock. At the same time we also put Lee into positions where he throws too many interceptions.

That said, there is never a reason this team should score 38 points at home or on the road and not win the ball game.

Same here. I said I was curious. I'm sure Crowton has a reasonable explanation.

Not sure, but I "think" he only played 2 years of HS ball and in a fairly small town. I've been through Brenham a few times. Ice Cream is their CTF.
