Rivals.com has this power rankings thing for college football that I've found to be a pretty good source. Yet, I had no idea that Rivals.com offered a college baseball power rankings thing. But, elsewhere on the internet, I was tipped off to the fact that Mainieri got ranked the #14 best coach in college baseball -- LINK (Miami's Jim Morris is #1 and Florida State's Mike Martin is #3... which to me is disappointing as I want to see everything about Miami and FSU downward spiral into garbage)
Even the little I follow baseball I was becoming sceptical so I have to give props here- good calls. Amazing how things can go from one end of the spectrum to the other in a matter of days.
Why don't we just kill this thread and just enjoy the Tigers end of season run. :tigbas::tigbas::tigbas::tigbas::tigbas:ldskule:
Because it's an excellent lesson for the doomsayers who want to jump off a cliff at the first hint of adversity.
Or folks who are winners and have a hard time dealing with losing- and I've always been hard on myself too. In PM's case, it was clear that he lacked a weekend rotation - which he's since taken care of. Now, if someone who follows it as distantly as I do can see that...course, I know a pitcher on the team and speak to his parents from time to time; and coach with his HS pitching coach who does follow LSU baseball very closely. Regardless, I posted to have some crow for starting to doubt him and give him due credit.
I haven't been following baseball as much. In a way I can see how fans can start losing faith when a talented team was not winning as much as expected earlier this season. Props to Sabanfan and Tirk for their calls earlier in this thread. Seems like the tigers are playing exciting baseball again. Amazing turn of events in just under a month.Their bats are surely on fire!
Nah, Sabanfan was right with his comment. We are never winners, only the players are, but many of us are spoiled and expect too much regardless of reality.
I was talking about "In life", in general. Reality for me is I've never been happy with or accepting of mediocrity in anything and, as a result, haven't had to deal with it much.
