USC and Oregon would most likely have to play one another twice. I'm not certain either team can win BOTH games.
It's funny that we finally have what we've been waiting for for 4 years (consistent QB play), but now we have no one to catch it. Our receiving corps last year was obviously better than this year's bunch. Hopefully, the dropped passes won't become an issue the rest of the year. Not worried about Beckham and Wright, Boone, and Landry show promise, but at this point, RS has become a liability in the passing game. I'm not sure WR is his forte. Probably find other ways to get him involved without throwing to him. He's right. We probably tack on a couple of more scores had we not been trying to run out the clock from mid 3Q on. Oh and the TD that Shepard dropped.
You don't get better by losing a guy as silky smooth as Rueben Randle, but that being the only loss combined with continued improvement from the 4 young guys you mentioned and I think this group could be very good. Potentially better overall. I personally think Landry may be the best of the bunch.
I don't buy the thought that McCarron will have a rough day with our defense. I think his O-line is really good. The difference this year might just be the arm of Mett.
Unless they adjusted the score to be 48-3 sometime after the game it wasn't. Just hang on to the damn ball and take the referee judgment out of the equation.
