True, but he busted an awful lot of tackles.

:geaux: He was simply awesome, no doubt about it. Just such a tragedy how he threw it all away.:dis: :LSU231:

No doubt, he was a very special talent. He had the potential to be a name remembered for many years in the SEC, not just among Tigers. It makes it even more hard to believe that he threw it all away just as it was getting started. Possibly one of the biggest wastes of talent in the history of NCAA football.

Absolutely. All-time wasted talent top 5. If there were such a list...hmmm...maybe a thread for that team

I would nominate Jamarcus over RP. Since Ryan got booted from LSU, he appears to have tried to put the pieces back together, and is still working to get his foot into the NFL. JR had his shot and threw it away.

    So let's start the list:

WR (2, plus a tight end)-
    OL (5)- Tony Mandarich
QB - Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Perrrilloux
RB - (2) Cecil Collins, Maurice Clarett

    DL (4)
    LB (3)
    DB (4)

So you are going for Tigers that wasted the talent at any point, not just while they were Tigers, right?
