are we up front with the big eaters? Mingo had a good game and was around the ball. thats good to see. isnt he a freshman? I wasnt expecting to see him much nor kendrick allen. both made the most of it. Josh Downs looks strong and Montgomery is super active on the edge creating fits. brockers and montgomery are going to be unblockable. nevis goes without saying. he was doing this last year but i suppose hes just in better shape. but how big is that dudes ****ing head. jesus. typical game for kelvin sheppard. ho hum. difference in dline is they are super super active. tyson jackson crazy talented but not so active it seemed. its noticeable when you have active guys all around. #90-brockers on the edge and these younger guys are constantly going forward, spinning and creating havoc. rarely saw this last couple years regardless the opponent. Baker finally getting his just due. always around the ball. And if we have a great defense, I can almost deal with the rest. Also, JJ probably cant look much worse than he did last weekend though I doubt we will ever be much above average with him back there. cant get the skill players nearly involved enough. we are scared to throw in a game we should have been able to work the playbook more. no can do. so brockers, montgomery and mingo are all freshmen and downs is a soph? thats pretty sweet. jury still out on loston, claiborne and taylor i suppose. they seem to be turned around half the time as opposed to mathieu who seems to have a good feel for the game. thats all i got except i kinda feel for toliver.
Chavis Rotating in 8 players helps keep everybody happy and their heads in the game . . . and they have fresh legs in the 4th quarter, too. Studrawa needs to play more of his O-line depth regularly for the same reasons.
we've been rotating guys on d almost as often for quite some time since its the one place we've had depth. but these guys just have the motor that had been lacking in some of our more talented fellas. these are the guys that make a great defense i think. going all-out despite the score or situation. lavalais and dorsey were two of the best. this entire d-line seems to have motor guys.
the o-line isnt bad. not great though inconsistent. people need to understand a line takes time to gel after many battles in the trenches. theyve yet to earn each others respect or learn how the other operates. will come in time i think but you have to give a new line time to operate as a cohesive unit.
I feel for TT too. He stuck around to have a BIG year and turn some heads for some of the pro scouts. We need to get him involved, other wise its just 10 on 10 out there, maybe 10 on 9
I don't know these players you mentioned. They must be freshmen, and I am told religiously here that Miles does not play freshmen. You must have watched the wrong game.
If Nevis's pro career doesn't pan out in the NFL, then he always has modeling to fall back on. He sure is a handsome little devil.
