yeah, and its pretty tough to rack up a ton of yards on offense when your average starting field position is at, or around, the 40 yard line. When you take that into consideration the 350 yds we are averaging looks pretty dang nice.

I've made this same point to Bama fans myself.

We have been able to be more physical than the other teams we played. We are not going to be able to count on being bigger and stronger for bama. They are every bit as big, strong and fast as lsu. We will have to play mistake free football we will have to create turnovers and not turn the ball over ourselves. The winner of the turnover battle will have the advantage.
If we can run the ball aginst bama, rushing for onehundred fifty yards or better , we should win. If bama shuts down the running game then we will be in trouble. While I do have faith in lee to be able to pass, running the ball has been what we are best at.
If our front four have the same game they had aginst moo state, bama will be forced to beat us throwing the ball. We will have the edge then with our spectacular secondary. That's got to be the keys to winning.
First we have Florida and auburn. Both these teams could surely beat us. It's going to be great to beat the chit out of auburn. I can't wait for that. It always feels great to beat the chit out of auburn.

I actually think our defense vs Bama's offense works in our favor. Our strength is stopping the run, and they are a running team, that occasionally throws downfield. Both of these line up well for LSU.

Not saying our run defense is or isn't better than their rushing offense, but that it's strength against strength. WVU was able to exploit an LSU weakness by utilizing the quick short passes. LSUs DL didn't have time to pressure the QB, and the secondary wasn't able to blitz, because they wouldn't have gotten there in time anyway, and it would've left gaping holes for their two speedy guys to run in open space. Bama doesn't have that kind of attack. They're more pro style, and LSU is set up to stop that kind of attack pretty well.

Now, can we move the ball against their D? I dunno... But I think we WILL have to be able to pass against them. Not saying abandon the run by any stretch, but make them respect our passing game enough to loosen up their front.

I think he's building confidence every day. When you look in his eyes during the closeups on TV right before a snap, he's looking very relaxed and calculating. I think these first 4 games have given him the confidence he needs to get through the next 4. He really looks comfortable in there.

I think we are going to see more and more complex game plans leading up to Bama. Who ever set up our schedule is a fricken genius. We've faced Oregon, who is predominantly a run offense, and we tested our run vs theirs. We won. We had NLU ... a confidence builder and a chance to get the younger guys in. We had MState, a solid run offense, with a decent pass defense ... we shut them down and our passing game was displayed as a threat. Then we went up against a pass heavy team in WVU, our secondary was definitely tested ... but we showed that we can score TDs through the air as well .... apparently better than a premier passing offense could.

Kentucky will be a confidence builder, and a chance to try a few new things.

Florida will be a test of our running defense, and our ability to move the ball against a big, fast defense.

Then another confidence builder with TN. .. though we shouldn't underestimate them.

Auburn .. will just be our b**ch. ... kinda the night before we go into battle.

Then ... Bama. I think we will be firing on all cylinders when we meet Bama. Lee will have even more confidence, the D will have even more experience ... Ware, Ford & Co., will be even more experienced, Chavis will have ironed out some wrinkles that will be exposed in the lead up ... and it will be "game on".

Afer that a couple of confidence builders, and a chance to lick our wounds and get healthy before playing the piggies ... who for some reason always give LSU fits. However, I don't expect this years piggies to give this years Tigers much of a problem. We have an offense this year .. and an even better defense than last year.

If this team stays healthy ... :crystal::crystal::crystal: ... is all I can see in the crystal ball.

Of course. I was referring to bama, UF, Auburn, and Arky. I have faith in Lee.

This is what I love and also worry about Lee. Essentially Lee threw it into tight coverage, which isn't usually smart. He's going to get some of those intercepted. But I'm happy that he has the audacity to make that throw. Jefferson was timid about throwing into coverage, but you have to take great risks to gain great achievements.
