Regardless of how this ends we as fans owe it to him to give him a standing O for his last game in TS. He has truly show the heart of a Tiger!:thumb::tigereye:
Aside from his stats or how he compares, I have to agree with all the talking heads, and CLM .. and it might very well be the most important thing that Lee is doing ...... .... Lee is being smart and controlling the game. He is being a true LEADER, which is something this offense hasn't seen in 3 years. I said it last year, I'll say it again .. when you have a true LEADER at QB, the OL blocks better, the RBs run better and the WR's make the extra effort to make the play. .... and the DEFENSE is more Fired Up, and plays to the end .. because the defense has CONFIDENCE that their offense will pay dividends for the hard work they do in stopping the opposing team. This is what a "team" looks like.
He is one shy in 4 games than JJ was the entire year last year (Including the Bowl game where he threw 3) if you remove the A&M game he is already almost doubled JJ in TD passes last year. That doesnt count the drop from Rubes... Not taking a shot at JJ just shows the vast improved me have had in that area. Which I guess is a shot at JJ Good stuff But for me the biggest thing I have enjoyed is I have not seen ONE option to the short side of the field or a Zone read for 0 yards... That to me is MUCH more important that stats. A balanced pro style attack
On the Palmer & Pollock show yesterday, Jesse Palmer said when asked who is the best QB in the SEC "At this point, based solely on this year’s performance in game time situations, hands down Jarrett Lee" And you know what, I have to agree. He is not putting up Heisman numbers or being recognized a POW, but in crunch time, there is nobody in the SEC I would want behind center other than General Jarrett Lee
Since I live in Mobile surrounded by Bama fans, I can't help but look ahead. Lee's 5 battle-hardened years against McCarron's 3 "QB-in-waiting" years may well be the X-factor against Bama.
Anybody else notice how he is always pulling down on the neck line of his shoulder pads? I havent read too much into it, but I hope it is not because he feels like his pads get in the way of his throwing motion & he does that on passing plays only. We all know when he flops his hand behind his back we are going to run it.
