This. And by the way, how many of their missing players were linemen? Not like the guys that replaced them are normally out there covering punts.

Counting Blackwell, LSU had 5 starters out. UNC had seven. Tough chit.

It's hard not to be impressed. Patrick Peterson is truly a special athlete. This much no one can deny.

I would say we have to temper it somewhat by the fact North Carolina was most vulnerable in their return team defense. Most of the players that normally make up their return team had to play as starters in the game instead and they were reduced to playing guys that would never have seen the field otherwise. Remember, the judgment came down at the last minute and NC had to scurry to get a plan in place for stopping the returns.

    It failed miserably.

What I didn't get from their perspective is why did they keep kicking it to us?

I don't know if the return game was "all that". He only returned one for a score.

I was pleased to see RR get some good yardage on his returns for that exact reason.

After seeing UNC put up 410 in the air (well over 200 in the 4th quarter alone) it's clear that we need to reach a healthy balance that allows PP to be fresh enough for the critical moments late in games.

Finally someone said it. I wanted to but was scared of the backlash. How in the hell can someone say the return game is a strength by watching the UCN game.:insane:

By the way, If someone can say that the return game is a strength by watching the UNC game than I can say JJ is a horrible QB. and Miles is still a bafoon!

You guys do realize by the 3rd quarter, he was only 9 yards away from breaking the SEC record for return yards, right? This includes teams playing I-AA squads. I don't care who we played, that was an impressive night.

Because we averaged 40 yards a return? You can believe that was a significantly inferior opponent if you want, the rest of us will be over here in Logicville.

I guess LSU is the only team that plays good players on Special teams....

Oh well, I guess that means since all other teams we face will be playng their 1's on D, PP can still destroy their 2's and 3's on Special teams right?

Then there is a lot of horrible QB's and Bafoon's at Head coach after week 1....See UF for examples.
