So, i walked back to the bedroom during halftime of the Raiders, Chargers game, and the TV in the bedroom is on ID channel, for those that aren't familiar with this channel is like a forensic, cold case, murder story, dateline type channel. I start listening and i was shocked at what i heard. So i looked it up, and i am even more shocked. How did i not hear about this? Its about an alabama booster who was murdered in 04. While i was watching it was talking about this booster giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to high school coaches around the memphis area so the players would go to Alabama. I've never heard of it either (the ID channel) - and I know I've never heard about the Bama booster. Good grief - where's the NCAA on this one? Sounds pretty blatant and a good reason to punish the Gumps. I'm for it. Sorry the man was killed - but if he was really giving cash to recruits...OMG - what a nightmare for Bama.
Oh - so that's why they were sitting in the corner.....didn't realize that. I try not to pay any more attention to Bama than I must....thanks for the info.
Wow, i didn't realize that was what they were on probation for. Kind of a slap on the wrist for that right?
There was the same type of situation is Baton Rouge a few years back. Maybe somebody has a better memory than me. When driving down Plank Rd from Baker to Baton Rouge, there's a gas station that always had 2 cadillacs painted in LSU colors and logo. Apparently, the guy who owned them was a booster and was paying LSU players to do jobs that really weren't jobs but just a paycheck. One of LSU's basketball players ratted the guy out even though he was getting money. I think he transferred from Kansas. Anybody got a better memory of this than ME?
