Also if we are going to throw out records...

how about the best team in the Big10 is 0-9 against the SEC lifetime.

    but in the same breathe....

there are some things about the Big 10 you just gotta love --

scholarship restrictions and the explosion of 24 hr sports tv have leveled the playing field to a large extent. gone are the days when the big 3 (cbs, abc, nbc) broadcast 1 game each per week that featured "traditional" powers USC, Nebraska, Oklahoma, ND, and Alabama.

all conferences have tv tie-ins and half of D-1 will qualify for a bowl. as far as being head and shoulders above any other conference? it's in the eye of the beholder.

last year louisville (big east) was 3rd in the final rankings, this year w.virginia is likely to win the :crystal: . i'm sure they believe they are now 'dominant". i certainly wouldn't argue for them, but it's hard to look objectively and argue against the notion as well.

    ain't conjecture fun? :)

Right...LSU and UF EARNED their way in...as opposed to what is likely to happen with tOSU this weekend, sitting at home on their arses, BACKING in to the BCSNCG.

You musta had a bad day fishing. We (LSU) backed in and the only way we get in this year (Which I'm clinging to right now) is backing in again. Hardly "Earning", deserving, yes. :thumb:

You've been spending too much time with your Pac 10 buds, Tiga. WE didn't back in in 2003...OU did. We won, in dominating fashion, our CCG. OU LOST, in dominating fashion, their CCG.

We won't be in the NC game this year...(I know it's still possible, but...), so that's a moot point. This year, tOSU is the one backing in.

Quite frankly, I was just arguing with you cuz I like to...but you should be embarassed suggesting we backed in in 2003. I was at that SECCG, and I can assure you...we did NOT back into that BCSCG. Shame on you.:nope:

PS-I'm going fishing tomorrow...not today. Maybe that's the problem...I'm not fishing today.

Deserving = going undefeated in a BCS conference.

Earning = losing less games then everyone else.

    LSU is neither.

Actually UF backed in too. They did what they needed to, but had to have USC drop the ball against UCLA.

That's called USC backing OUT. UF did their job...in the SECCG, AND most definitely in the BCSCG.:thumb:

What we did this year is back out.

So NOBODY is deserving this year? (not saying I disagree, but...last year the team that EARNED it beat the team that DESERVED it like a rented mule)

    No... no one is "deserving"...

But Mizzou, Ohio State and West Va if they all win.... all deserve it.
