Exactly. How many teams can get this stat line from their starting QB and still BEAT THE EVER-LOVING DOGSH!T out of the conference championship game opponent?

More than anything, this underscores exactly why LSU is one of the best teams of all time.

    - Great, Great Defense. Turnovers. Playmakers. Stop the run and pressure the QB. Our D is smothering the bad guys.

    - Great, Great Special Teams. We can punt it high and long. We can return punts. And cover kicks. Flip field position.

    - Power running game. We're rotating 4 backs. We've got a stout OLine and a pair of punishing fullbacks. These guys are beating the life out of our opponents.

I cringe watching JJ hold the ball while in the pocket. I'm screaming "THROW THE BALL"!

    But the truth is...

We are who we are. It's really hard to beat a team if you can't score on them.

Really? So Hightower and Upshaw are going to drop 20-30lbs and learn how to run much faster before the NCG?

Besides, our game plan won't be to win the game solely on the option. We will use the option to stretch bama's defense out, ware them down, and keep them honest. Just like last time. . .

Nah, the only thing I'm wondering about right now is your sanity if you'd rather see a guy with no meaningful snaps at this level step in before a seasoned veteran against one of the best defenses in the country.

Exactly! I said in the game thread (I believe it was that thread) that we won 42-10 with only 30 yards passing. Defense and ST scored 14 of the 42, so the offense still put up 28, which was way more than enough to win. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

IMHO, it felt like our coaches saw something on film or in practice that made them think we'd be able to pass it all over UGA with JJ, and JJ just came out and laid an egg. we threw the ball WAY too much in the first half, especially early on from deep in our own territory (something we haven't done a lot of all year).

as others have mentioned, JJ tends to perform best when he's got some extra time to prepare.. and clearly having even an adequate day from our QB is not a necessity with this team.

JJ had a horrid game. He obviously didn't play like he has been this year. I think he will practice well and come out playing a good game, whoever we play in the NC. Just look at him last year at cotton bowl when he had time to prepare.

Bama sure let Georgia Southern run all over them with the option

It is totally amazing that this team can put up so many points with so little passing yards, pretty much was a one dimensional running team yesterday.
What does it say that our Oline and team are able to do this? I mean the other team knows what is coming and they can't stop it!

There's no secret. Everybody knows what we want to do but just can't stop us. JJ has been...is...and will continue to be a one-dimensional QB. He has never been more and won't be for his last four quarters of football. He has no future in football and just needs to finish strong for four quarters.

Regardless of opponenet, we need a game plan where JJ doesn't have to think. If we can avoid any situation where he has to read a defense, pass, pay attention to the clock, or look off a receiver...we'll be fine. If we can run well and occasionally move the chains the defense and special teams will win it like they have all season.

Keep the game plan simple. I'm not trying to knock JJ but he's not a rocket scientist and we can't afford the leave the game in his hands. We have no backup as we've completely destroyed Lee with the recent decision making and the lack of playing time for Mett.

We have more "playmakers" than Oklahoma State or Alabama. I wish we had a true playmaker on offense but have faith that TM7, Mo, Wing, etc. will get it done.
