How big/little of a drop-off will LSU have in the secondary this season?

That's why they call it a rivalry. You also may remember that Bama threw the ball over the head of a wide open Smelly, going long. Brandon Gibson dropping a ball at the one yard line and one passing through the outstretched arms of another receiver on the deep route.

We could have helped ourselves a little more than we did. With such a dominate defense that evening, why mess with the conservative approach? But I saw nothing that reminded me of the Nov. 5 game, on either side of the ball.

One important factor is that The D's played almost the EXACT same game on both teams

Nov 5 Bama had 17 first downs to LSU's 15
Jan 9 bama had 21 first downs to LSU's 5

The only improvement on any team was Bama's O, clearly. Didn't expect you to actually notice anything. LSU's D played about as good as EVEN Bama's could have considering the awfulness of our O.. It had less to do a better performance out of Bama's D as it had to do with JJ taking a fucking SHIT on the field...

 

15 to 5 first downs. 92 total yards. Not a subtle difference.

I remember Bama not having an answer for the option, in November. The number one reason Bama lost that game, late. In the rematch, JJ couldn't take the contain guy out of the play. Upshaw and Harris making JJ pitch and then tackling the running back behind the line. After years of watching the wishbone, not a good thing.

 

Eh, I look at it as more a a fluke that the option actually worked on Ya'll the first game..
