I'll put it like this: if my kid was just a bad kid...you know the type...I would KNOW it. I wouldn't like it, but I'd know it. But I'm not about to sit around and watch my wife and family talk about how bad he is and how disgusted they are. I love him too much not to defend him. That's how I feel about my Tigers. :geaux:
Let me clarify...I agree about the ones calling for the coaches head. I think that's on one far away end of the spectrum, here. However, MOST of the posters that are being called fair...er...fare weather fans are only pointing out the obvious and being realistic. - Let's say your kid was a steady D student in math...say a 4th grader. Then all of the sudden, he has an algebra 2 test coming up. He's not shown any propensity for excelling in math whatsoever. I agree you shouldn't call him stupid, but would you tell everyone...including him/her...that you think he/she is gonna get an 'A'? I would think you would try pointing out areas to help them study...and realistically hope they pass...but you would have your doubts. You'd love 'em either way though. - That's all we're doing. Only thing is...we can't REALLY tell the Tigers the things they need to improve upon. We can only discuss it amongst ourselves...on this DISCUSSION BOARD! We still love 'em...we just see the obvious weaknesses...and hope they improve before it's too late. This weekend is a pop quiz...but next weekend? The midterm exam.
