Can those of you that attended the Cotton Bowl recommend a good area and/or hotel to stay at that is 1) Near Cowboys Stadium and 2) Near some good restaurants/bars. I'd prefer a Hilton chain, but any will work. Thanks and GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I highly recommend Homewood Suites. You might want to consider the first night stop over in Longview, Tx (2 hrs to D). The Homewood there is practically new. I had a suite with jacuzzi, fireplace, and evening appetizers and drinks. ($99). Lots of restaurants in Longview, but not exactly a hot spot.
The Homewood in Longview will be much cheaper and a good lay over for the first night.

Stay at the Anatole. That will be LSU's Hotel.
Downtown and you can follow the motorcade to the game....

I was thinking that, too. Why stay in Longview...ever?

We stayed at th Doubletree about 30 feet from the Anatole. It was an easy hop, skip, and jump to the highway but at least 15 minutes from the stadium.

It was easy to get there during the day but after the game it took us 45 minutes to drive one mile for the exit towards the hotel.

Word of advice, around the stadium, backroads are your best friend. There are signs that said "No through traffic" but we viewed these as optional when paired next to traffic.

No kidding right? Unless you had some specific reason to go there.
