All states will most likely follow Kentucky since they are the horse racing mecca. This is a good thing for everyone involved in racing. Many of the horses that run every other week at the small tracks will no longer be able to race because they won't be able to mask injuries with steroids. This will be better for those horses, and also make it fair for the little guys that want to play the game. Also, it will now be a rare thing to see track records broken anymore, not that that really matters.
No. Lasix is a medicine used in horse racing to stop bleeding in the respirtory system. Is is perscribed to people as a water pill.
OK, I knew what it did but wasn't sure if it was classified as a steroid, meaning that it would now be benned. What about that breather medication often used?
Lasix started out as a good idea in the '70s. As we learn more, the jury is still out 30 years later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furosemide
