Why in the hell would you totally replace the turf 3 or 4 days before you play a game on it? The person that made that decision should be looking for a new job by now.

I live in Orlando and the reason the field it torn up is because the Citrus Bowl hosted all 6 state high school championships over two consectutive weekends during November. That tore the field up and the new sod did not take.

The Citrus Bowl did that last year also but I do not remember the field being as big of an issue for the bowl games, but this year's rain and cooler weather probably contributed.

Newspaper this morning says they resodded on Dec. 24th but weather conditions didn't allow it to root. Well, I guess not. That would be super grass to root in 4 days. Why not resod after those high school games.

They say they'll put down artificial turf next year.

The turf is a real concern for me. LSU has an advantage especially at the WR vs. DB matchup and with a sloppy track it negates that advantage. That could marginalize LSU's passing game and force LSU to try to run with it's fourth-team RB, which would be a huge advantage for PSU. IMO, LSU has to try to stretch PSU's defense vertically with it's speedy, physical WRs then try to run with the safeties backed out of the box. IU had success throwing vertically against PSU with similar WRs to that of LSU.

How do you figure? The Penn State CBs have 4.34 and 4.42 forties. Their FS has a 4.37 forty. Toliver has a 4.46 and Lafell has a 4.48

No chance they will be able to fix the field. The conditions of the field will certainly slow down the running game at the very least. Since PSU has a better running game than LSU, that could work to the Tiger's advantage. We'll see.

Being that the Penn State team has so much speed nowadays, ya, the field conditions might very well favor a very physical (as well as very quick) LSU team... like how the speed on Penn State's team wasn't able to beat Ohio State or Iowa.
