Rick Bucher on "Mike and Mike" this morning, intimated that the lottery was rigged as part of a deal to help sell the team.

Everyone is saying that. There was a story on yahoo about it yesterday. Evidently all the owners are pissed, and alleging a lottery conspiracy. Maybe so, who knows. Benson sure looked like he didn't know wtf he was doing after the announcement though.

The conspiracy theory immediately came to mind when I noticed the Hornets got the #1 pick. I don't really know if any validity but other lottery situations like Ewing to NY and Lebron to CLE make you wonder.

I've only seen Anthony Davis play a few times. While the sky seems to be the limit and everyone expects further growth out of him as a player, the expectations that he eventually becomes a Shaq, Dwight Howard, or Lebron type megastar will be difficult to meet.

My favorite aspect of playing basketball is to control a game without having to score. Get a block/rebound, start a fast break and dish to a teammate filling the lane. Guard the opposing team's best player and shut him down while also playing help defense when needed. Davis had those intangibles on the college level and hopefully will have the same impact at the highest level. I expected Tyrus Thomas to perform better than he has so I won't declare yet that Anthony Davis is a lock to have a career equal to KG. If he ever gets rid of the uni-brow, it may also diminish his intimidation on D.

    Ahh, the unibrow. Lol

I wonder when all the shops on Bourbon Street will start selling shirts with unibrows. o_O

One of the reporters at the actually drawing basically killed any chance of there being a conspiracy. He described the scene has laughing and backslapping for the Hornets representative and said there's no way they would have acted like they did if they thought there was a conspiracy.

The reason I hope they all choke on the fact that NO won the lottery is...

The NBA royally screwed the Hornets when they were forced to trade Chris Paul. EVERY one of thaose same NBA teams wanted Paul, but Low Balled us on trades. When Demps finally was able to put together a good deal Stern vetoed it.

then we were really scrambling because all the other teams could now low ball us even further. The only reason we were able to get anything for Paul was because Stern had to twist the Clippers arms real hard and we got almost nothing for Paul. Eric Gordon, who missed about half of the games in his three year career is now an unrestricted free agent who will probably leave us in a heart beat for more $$. Kaman was a player we didn't want or need and the other rookie we got in that trade is a bust.

Bottom line...the rest of the league (including the commissioner) wanted to screw the Hornets....so screw them !!!
