I like it since N.O. really did not lose out on much with Paul and Pargo handling the guard position. And we get 2 players who average about 20 minutes a game with Bonzi avg 9 points and 6 rebs a game and James 6 pts and 2 rebs a game this year.

Well obviously the Hornets bench just got deeper as they got 2 quality role players in exchange for 1.

I think that's the biggest thing you take out of this trade.

Interesting that the Rockets would make a move that was clearly meant to unload a big salary (James) that they no longer wanted in exchange for possibly making their team slightly weaker, when in fact you have a legit shot at the title this year.

Getting Mike James is big, he is not at starting PG, but off the bench he is a beast. Good pick up.

I love the trade...the Hornets now have two more real scoring threats/high energy guys off the bench.

    Mike James sucks. lol

All he is, is a scorer and he doesn't even do that anymore (34% from the field).

There is a reason Rafer Alston and a rookie (Aaron Brooks) were playing ahead of him.

But Bonzi v. Bobby Jackson is real, real close.

It's for the most part a level deal imo. If I had to say someone one, it's the Hornets, though.

The Rockets got weaker here and moved below the luxary tax in this deal, but some say it is setting up an Artest deal later today, so if that occurs, it'd be all worth it.

we'll see, because with Artest in town there would be no room at all for Bonzi.

    ahh, yes Artest.

It does appear this is an attempt to set up the Artest deal.

If that happens, Houston is up there with the favorites to win it all. Artest is a beast, you just got to deal with the headaches. To win a championship, the Rockets will deal with a migraine at this point.

With Artest in town, there will be no room for anyone. Cause you would have to wait on him to cut another rap album or have a meltdown in practice..
If you are counting on Artest, for the Rockets, your expectations are low.

I worry about the dropoff for the Hornets since Bobby Jackson is a legit backup. He's a part-time beast at the 3, too.

But at the same time, when Detroit made the trade for Rasheed Wallace to get them over the top. Its probably not any different than trying to get Artest.

However, I still wouldnt count on Artest to get me over the top.
