yes, there were/are many in okc who wanted to keep the hornets, including our scummy mayor. who, by the way, is a huge sooner fan. just one of many reasons i dislike him. but, you have to lay equal blame to shinn, not just the okc faction. shinn did everything possible to get the hornets out of nola, and sent alot of signals to okc that he wanted them to stay here. no, the leaders (and i use that term loosely) in okc should not take advantage of a natural disaster that temporarily displaced the hornets from their home. however, shinn should have also had more respect for his contract in nola. he did pretty much everything he could to get out of it. the majority of fans in okc have seen the relocation for what it was. temporary. do not judge everyone here by the actions of a greedy few in our city govt. and do not judge the city as a whole by the actions of shinn who was one who tried to keep the team here at the expense of new orleans. to do so in disprespectful of the fans who have embraced the team knowing it was only temporary.
I'm right there with you on Shinn being a greddy S.O.B. If it wasn't for David Stern who know what would be. I don't judge everybody in OKC and put them in this "group." There are some...like the city officials....most of the posters over at www.hornetscentral.com, and a few writers at the Oklahoman or whatever who's sole goal is get the Hornets relocated for good to OKC. I'll be renewing my season tickets next year as will most :thumb:
Obviously (see OkieTiger) there are some very good people in OKC, and the surrounding area. And, for their part, they have done an excellent job of taking care of OUR Hornets. I didn't want my comments to sound inflamatory to everyone up there....just the sooners.
like our mayor. but please don't judge everyone by him. it's not just the hornets. he is in all regards a greedy, arrogant, sleeze (IMO). not every one in city govt is like him I would venture to guess that early in the FB season, that visitors to this forum thought almost everyone on this forum and most tiger fans hated Les Miles. While we know that it was just a small but VERY vocal group group that was rabidly anti-miles, they made enought stink to make it look like it was almost everybody. I would also guess that a small but very vocal group of fans here in OKC make it seem that all of us hornets fans here in OKC are greedy scum bags. just as with the Miles bashers, that isn't the case. the Oklahoman? please. at the Oklahoman, journalistc integrity is an oxymoron. I don't like your term "joklahoma" but if you want to use it in conjunction with that rag, it would be fitting.
Kinda like a LA politician :hihi: True, but the same thing happened with San Antonio....you can't tell me that all 17,000+ that attend Hornets games in OKC every time they play wouldn't be all for keeping the team with no hesitation. Just for you, I fixed it
So the Hornets will be returning to NOLA next year for the season? I was surprised this year when they didn't return for the season!
