Sucks to lose Collison. I don't know if Ariza is the player to put us to the next level though.

    Collison as a starter = 19 and 9
    Paul as a starter in 2009 = 19 and 10

Would you trade Paul for Ariza?

The Hornets didn't get enough for their rookie PG. Not surprising.

Indiana wins big in this trade, getting the best player, while also cutting salary.

Guess the Hornets are pretty confident in keeping CP3 if they are shipping Collison off.

Here's a highlight reel of Ariza. BE WARNED! If watching at work, the video's set to a mature audience rap:

Don't like giving up Collison, but dumping Posey's contract is good. I don't know a lot about Ariza, but based on that video, he gives the Hornets a dimension that they've rarely had since coming to New Orleans, that of a high-energy player who can create off the dribble and finish above the rim. Before this, the only plays like that we've gotten have been the oops after CP3's alleys. Our forwards are usually jump shooters rather than penetrators. Looks like he's got some defensive sense as well. All in all, he may be the player they thought they were getting when they drafted Julian Wright.

Ariza used to play for my NY Knicks back in the day. He's in his prime and still has a tremendous upside. Has a ton of athletic ability. Should fit in well with the Hornets (heck, Ariza could probably fit in well in most NBA franchises). Don't get me wrong....he's not the 2nd coming of LeBron or anything...but he's good. Lakers fans loved him.

I'm a Rockets' fan and I loved him, too.

But he's not as good as Collison, and he makes the exact same amount Posey makes, so it's not a salary dump in any way.
