Ok, had to break this piece off as a separate thread. As promised, to beef up what was a thin team in 2009-10, Coach Trent Johnson alluded to getting more walk-ons on the team. So, it was announced today that in addition to Zack Kinsley (walk on from last year's team), there will be three new faces on the squad. 2theadvocate.com | News | 3 walk-ons round out LSU basketball roster — Baton Rouge, LA Daron Populist (Fr.), Chris Beattie (Jr.) and Taylor Jacobsen (So.) are the names, and you can find some YouTube higlights on these kids. Call me a homer, but some of these kids actually seemed to be decent prospects. Populist was actually getting some looks from Kentucky when Billy G was there. Beattie averaged 22+ ppg and can shoot. Jacobsen, who played his ball in NC made some all conference team. Hmmm. Is there hope yet for 2009? :hihi: If nothing else, we've got some bodies to throw out on the court... :yelwink2:
