A Barber, 5* point guard from Virginia lists LSU as a school of intrest but has no offer. What's the deal on him? Why would he not have a offer?

Scout or Rivals don't update their basketball recruiting that often. I'm not sure if we are recruiting him...If I remember correctly he's name popped up during Trent Johnson's tenure.

Yes, the reality is that generally speaking these sites are horribly out of date, and only when there's "fire" do they start covering basketball recruiting. At one point, there was a lot of activity around Barber in the Trent era. I think that all of this changes with a coaching change. CJJ and staff have their guys that they were targeting long before and Barber could have also just thrown out names of schools to appease someone recruiting him.

In the end, I think our primary point guard targets will largely be in TX. Kendall Harris has been a guy CJJ and Forrest have liked a lot. I wonder also about David Taylor, Derrick Taylor's son. He may be one of the better Euro prospects next year. It will be interesting how this staff plays what is a very loaded 2013, and who will get offers, and who will take those offers seriously.

I'm sure this has been talked about in football threads but 5 star WR Ricky Seals-Jones decommited from Texas because he want to play basketball and football...LSU is on his list of school...6'5 220lb SF... I'm pretty sure Texas will give him a spot on the basketball team but it's nice to see Les Miles and Coach Jones tag teaming!

Too bad Shaq didn't want to play football too. They could have used him back then like too tall Jones.

I thought about that back then. Imagine Shaq, at 7'1, 290 or so, and Stanley Roberts at 7'0, 285, as your DT's on passing downs.
