From what I got from several people in Laplace who are close to Gathers, is that his relationship with Tweety Carter is a major driving force to go to Baylor. Tweety Carter and Gathers have played together for several years before Tweety went to Baylor. Remember, Gathers started for Reserve Christian as an eight grader. That team pretty much landed into Riverside's lap. When the school got shut down, Timmy Byrd took the job at Riverside and the rest is history. I can't imagine Gathers switching his commitment again, and therefore he should be attending Baylor in the future.
