Maybe LSU didn't do all they could, not going to argue that. However, to say the main reason you along with their whole recruiting class decommitted from St. Johns was because you wanted to give LSU a shot was just that to take a shot at the LSU staff. Garbage I seem to remember him putting a foot in his mouth a few times during his recruitment.
to be fair, there is someone claiming that he was at two of Gathers' Top 28 games last year, and that Trent and the whole LSU staff was at both of them, and another person claims he has seen youtube clips and footage showing Trent at the AAU tourney with Gathers so maybe Gathers is only talking about this year or is exaggerating but still... it's not like football, Trent isn't recruiting 25 guys a class but only a few, I'm not saying Trent should go stalker on them but at least make enough visits with them and their family so they feel the love
If this is the way the kid feels then he needs to go elsewhere and does not sound like a kid that we need at LSU. I have had my doubts about him from the beginning because he always seemed wishy-washy. I have a hard time respecting someone like this who takes parting shots. GEAUX TIGERS!!
I don't know what to say about this! One of the first youtube clips I saw of Gathers a few years ago, he was asked who are some of the schools recruiting you, the first name he said with a big smile was "Man LSU"! So we have been there from the beginning. It seems as if when he got bigger he wanted a bigger stage. He signed with St. Johns (who the year before put themselves on a bigger stage) and when things went sour up there he decommitted. Tigernhornedland posted a clip a few days ago and when asked about recruiting he mentioned LSU but what stood out to me was Gathers stating, some say Kentucky is interested but they haven't offered...yea i'm kinda waiting on it and if it happens it happens if not it's all good. It seem like Gathers was looking for a school that was going to put him on the big stage right away...You can't be mad at a kid for doing what he thought was best for him...Am I pissed he's not going to be in purple and gold, hell yea and part of me is hoping he pulls a Gunner and part of me is happy its over! Life after the recruitment of Gather, there is still one! A lot of us thought Gathers was a must get and really he's not. If LSU is not good next year it will not be because Gathers didn't commit. He's a great high school player from the state of Louisiana and that would have been huge PR but we can still put together a solid class. It would be nice to grab a Juco big or two who has a solid post game who can be rotated in with Hamilton and JOB...a SF i've been hearing the name Shavon Colman resurface...I'd love to grab Nate Guy out of the state of Washington...Morgan is a solid pick up and can play both guard spots...The point is just because Gathers went elsewhere the sky is not falling...
Yep! I think we are better off w/o a guy like this. I'll bet the Baylor thing doesn't work out to the end. He may sign and play for them, but I'll bet there will be discontent along the way, and he will pack it in. Leave before he's ready, or transfer. One or the other.
We are not better off without Rico. He was a no-doubt must-get recruit, and a failure for the coaching staff. Like I said, CTJ may not be here next year anyway.
I seems to me like its been long enough to have recruited a few above average players. I think CJ will last one more year only because the AD hired him. No excitement in the program, its dull like the coach. He's gotta have a great signing class & its already to late. I'm just sayin...
