Who is or will be named the player of the year in Louisiana high school Basketball this year? I was hoping it would be Issac but not sure he had that great a season this year.
Issac had a great season, but not sure if was better than say Gaithers or Bridgewaters. IMO, i believe it comes down to them three and the funny thing is they are all from class 2A.
My money will be on Gathers. It's like when Derenbecker won the title as a Jr. I think Isaac should have no shame though in his season. I just think the title will go to someone who won their title, and got the national accolades.
Nice article that I failed to post earlier. As a counterpoint to some of the things posted on the Tiger's Den, I think there are some interesting quotes from Johnny O'Bryant about the direction of the program. We'll see if he can truly be a game changer... Scout.com: Ready for O'Bryant
There actually are sometimes. Unfortunately I don't think the players LSU recruits are the kind of players that take part in it. IIRC Terrence Jones on Kentucky famously picked Washington but then went to Kentucky in a shocking decision. I think this year everyone has already picked where they are going so there isn't anything going on.

DAMN that Butch Pierre! This is a total aside here, but I'll be VERY interested in seeing how this kid pans out, in a physical Big 12 school. Oklahoma St gets Cezar to commit to them, after he reopened his recruiting. Cezar Guerrero 2011 Basketball Recruiting News - ESPN I liked this kid off of the tape, a little small, but very quick and skilled. I'll certainly take an All-JUCO guard here, though, who can help more quickly.
Who is Cody Glenn? Rivals has him Committed but not yet signed under LSU listings. Out of Houston Westbury Christian - 6ft 4in shooting guard. Digging deeper I see that he is a pitcher also & has signed with LSU. Just not sure why he is also listed as a basketball committment also..???
He's a baseball commit. Rivals just links all of sports on a prospect, so that's why he appears as a basketball recruit. Frankly, when you have kids like Cody Glen or even Ronald Martin (football but decent basketball player too), you wonder whether Trent is aware of this and talking to them. They are both 6-3 to 4 guards that are reasonably good.
