and they have won sense that article. they played up in pine prarie last night winning again by double digits to go to 11-0. Won again tonight in pine praire tourny and now 12-0. Play for another tourny title on saturday. would be their 3rd this season. But, their first big test will come monday against 4A leesville.
Pickering beat Avoyelles 75-46 to win their 3rd tourny of the year on saturday @ Pine Prarie. JI had 16 pts and barely played in the second half. AD had 14 pts himself w/o playing the 4th qtr. Just got back from watching JI and AD play tonight. John Issac led pickering againts leesville high school (4A) and was outstanding. He had two monster dunks. The first was off of a missed shot over a leesville player. The second a 360 on a fast break. I will post stats as soon as I get them. LSU is looking like they are getting a steal of a player.:bball:
here is the article on JI and his Pickering team vs Leesville. JI nearly had a triple double in this game w/ 35 pts 11 rebs and 8ast. Needless to say in their toughest test so far, he looked every bit the part of and SEC player. The total game from him was there that night. Inside, outside, def, rebounds, court vision. The more i watch this kid the more I believe in not only him, but trent johnson and out LSU Tigers.
thanks for the updates, TigerBred. Love to see it. I do think that this kid will garner a good amount of attention for LA POY, and if he gets it, Trent will have landed the back to back LA POYs, in Derenbecker and Isaac. This is a kid, from what I read, that really did not cow-tow to the AAU game (plus he got hurt). So, that, along with the fact that he committed pretty early, contributes to him flying "under the radar" as a recruit. I think it'll be interesting to see whether he develops his point guard game. He's being considered a "combo" guard, but it'll be interesting to see where Trent plays him more. Is he more likely to get PT between Ralston and Aaron? Or backing up Stringer over Bass? I think he's arguably the most "complete" guard that LSU could see in a while, b/c frankly Turner is a pure 2G, but may not be the defensive stopper he needs to be at this point. Stringer is a undersized PG who likes to shoot, but needs to work on his court vision and control. Isaac is an athletic 2G that has the vision and handles to play point and has a reasonably good outside shot, but most importantly is pretty athletic and strong right now. If he works on his handles and passing, he could continue to develop at point as a pretty hard to stop "big" PG. Assuming he doesn't grow taller, he might be better off working at PG for a shot at the NBA. That said, Javon Felix, is getting more pub now as a solid PG prospect for 2012.... Let's hope all of these kids find a lot of PT at LSU! :geaux:

I'm hearing locally that LSU is looking at Shawn Long from Morgan City High now. He's in the 6'8, 6'9 range, and has 18 triple doubles through 19 games this year (points, rebounds and blocks, was held to 9 points in one game).
