This may be a little bit of old news, but I had not seen this until recently. ESPN has loaded some ESPN U footage of Ralston Turner at the King City Classic from over the summer. This is newer footage than the Rivals footage I had seen of Turner.

This highlight does a better job of showcasing him. It looks like Turner's quicker, has a quicker release than I remember. Also he's a pretty fluid guy who at 6'6" looked pretty smooth out there cutting to the hoop and hitting the glass. Definitely will look good as a SG playing for Trent. And, in some ways reminds me of what Noel Johnson sort of was in a 2009 recruit. Tall, lean, good shot and a smooth operator. Noel was a little taller perhaps, but Ralston looks to be more like a top 75 kid than a top 144 kid. ESPN does have it closer to right than Rivals, IMO.

Signing day's getting closer. Welcome to Tigertown, 2010 class. :)

Usually, it's mid November. This year I believe the early signing period is November 11th - 18th, so come next Wednesday, we should know if Turner, Derenbecker, Stringer and Courtney do us proud. We will also see next Friday what the Tigers have goin' in their first first game on the 13th.

That's quite a class Trent has put together.
I have seen Derenbecker play a few times in person and will see him a couple of times this year. He is very good and in my eyes will have a bigger impact then his Ludwig.

    Hey Guys,

Your Basketball team went to Houston for a scrimmage this last weekend, any word on how that turned out? Our (Houston) BB program is down and is looking for any improvement they can find. Playing LSU anytime in any sport is always a big deal.

I was hoping/rooting for the Tigers to beat Bama...What is up with your QB play? I know Russell Shephard from his play is our HS district in CFISD... Great athlete, but not sure he's gonna be the next great Tiger QB

BTW, you guys are getting a pretty good Volleyball player in Desiree Elliot from my daughter's HS in Cypress TX (NW Houston)

    Thanks

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, no real word has leaked out about the scrimmage, in terms of how things went, other than one of our key players dislocated his knee cap. Sucks. I'm interested in how Houston ultimately does. One, I've always thought that Tom Penders had a decent shot to bring back some glory to that program. Two, Houston should be good given the recruiting base (just see what's going on with the Cougars' football team when an actual good coach shows up). Three Memphis could be considered in a "weakened" state with Cal leaving, although Pastner's done a good job recruiting still. Houston's traditionally loaded up on pretty decent, athletic players, and so four, there's a little bit of recruiting battles every now and then between Houston and LSU. Good luck with your season.

Here's the only good definitive accounting of the scrimmage from Trent's mouth. I heard that (unreported here) that actually a kid to watch is Zach Kinsley, who outside of Tas' Mitchell scored the second highest points. With Farrer going down, Kinsley stands to gain much more PT.

Btw, for folks following this thread for a while, today is a big day. So far Turner's papers are in... and we wait for more. HELP is on the way for the Tigers! :geauxtige :geauxtige :bball: :geauxtige :geauxtige

Thanks....very sad to hear about the loss of your senior guard.

I've always been an LSU fan (Mother went there back in the mid to late 40s)
