Washington has no plans to play basketball at LSU. Maybe that changes but highly unlikely.

Good news on Stringer, sounds like a Tiger to me.

This is good news... although after the last time I called a recruit committing to the Tigers (Noel Johnson), I'll hold my breath and wait.

The reasonable choice would be LSU, just makes the most sense for Stringer. Big day to look forward to for hoops fans! :geaux:

Ha! Funny, my friend... sort of. I still think what could have been this year with an extra good body. Reading some of the reports from Tigerbait talking to Trent about how some of the kids are doing... it sounds a little rough. Injuries and having healthy bodies is killing the Tigers right now. Bo's wrist, Dotson's knee, Garrett's back... all looking not so good. Plus it sounds like some of the younger kids have a ways to go according to Trent. Ugh.

    But, back to recruiting.

As we wait anxiously for Monday and Andre Stringer's decision. People out there are talking about it already as a foregone conclusion... Rivals' Jerry Meyer talks about Stringer vs. Releford, one-time LSU recruit Roscoe Smith, South Carolina's haul, among other things, in his "mailbag" segment:

Now, here's some food for thought. I know Trent wants to keep the remaining open schollie for 2011. But, he's got the flexibility in 2009-10 to use it if needed. What happens if Garrett Green's back is bum this year too?

Does Trent use his WA/Seattle influence and get in on Mr. Josh White, 6'9" 270 lb man-child Center from the West coast? He's going to be a kid that may still be around by spring. And, a 270 lb true center allows White, Harris and Green to play their natural positions of PF, although I'm sure Trent has his reasons for not pursuing the kid as hard as he could....

I know, I know... I can't let this thread just die!

So, the four kids that folks started out with earlier this summer are committed and waiting to sign on the dotted line. As the dust settles it'll be regarded as a very good class, and the one class that Trent will be judged more closely on (i.e., first full-year recruiting cycle at the helm) as time goes on.

Do folks like it? When we see kids like Langston Galloway, Markel Brown and Brian Williams leave the state, are we moving away from "LA first" as Trent originally proferred? I see LSU signing (arguably) the #1 recruit out of LA, the #1 & #3 recruit out of MS, and perhaps the #1 or #2 recruit out of AL (according to ESPN). But, as we look at the class, we don't know a lot about Courtney yet, who was an early commit, and Ralston, well he's rated 40th in one service and 144th in another. We've got a team of versatile, well shooting players on the perimeter, but no one particularly athletic or dominating physically.

How do folks feel about what we're going to see? I think as 2010 rolls around, we're going to see more and more of a distinctively "Trent" team.

Interesting.... You hear this kid's name most associated with Arkansas, but it's only been recently where Rivals/Yahoo is listing him HIGH on LSU with an offer. Nonetheless, here's the center/power player that this class/LSU needed, and I have to believe that if an offer was given, Trent is a little concerned about the development of some of his post players, or he's not seeing quite what he likes in 2011. This kid would be a good complement to Malcolm White on the inside. His "offer" list is impressive, if his little interview is correct. He's from the same JUCO as 2009 LSU recruit, Brad Reese. I've heard rumblings that LSU was down in FL looking at Jucos and Marvell Waithe is another name that could be swirling around.

More random news on the kid:
