We've got some pretty good players, even if there are some holes in the current lineup (size/strength down low, and a top notch PG). With the incoming talent - assuming a good coaching hire is able to retain the current class, returning players and healed players, LSU hoops is in a position to very quickly return to being a top SEC team. I really think this has got to be an attractive job to some top young coaches around the country like Grant, Ford, Drew etc. The fan base needs to be sold and support rebuilt, but a lot of elements are there just waiting for a catalyst to come in and start the chain reaction!

I hope we don’t sign butch because of the last two games. Players could be playing off of emotions. Now after seeing the last to games I would hope the last few games are closely watched. If Butch guides the team to a few more wins and maybe steals a few in the SEC tournament I would have no problem with BP being the head coach.
I also think you have to take a close look at Scott Drew. Drew has gotten a few high profile players to go to Baylor, I’m not trying to dog Baylor but McDonalds All American and Baylor just don’t seem to go together. and he’s done it in our backyard! Proven recruiter. I haven’t watched to many Baylor game’s but it looks like they are in pretty good shape to get into the big dance. Also SD is a young upbeat guy, fan friendly and that could possibly get some more people coming to games.
Anthony Grant, Don’t know much about him it seems like a lot of people or going off the fact that Florida was going to hire him. He seems sto have a good track record. If he’s a winner lets sign him!

I’m not to worried about the 09 class, I’m worried more about the 08 class. IF a good coach comes in and guides this 08 class to win’s the 09 class will fall in place. I hate so say it but I think Brady would have done good with next years class. Brady was a big man’s coach and when he had big men we did pretty good (AR and CJ are really tall SF and don’t count). If Morgan stays committed we could have one of the best frontcourts in the college basketball with a lot of depth. Plus will have a lot of Vets to help guide the new guys.

IF BP is not the new coach I hope he and Dollar stay on the staff

My Man- I can tell you!! Now it's going to be VERY HARD TO KEEP BP AND $$$ To stay and Fit in to a new coach!! They are going to have to give him a
shot..... Your Jr. class who are good!! They just got off to a bad start....

Think about This!!! :milesmic: A New coach for ONE YEAR!! You will have 5/6 Player
Going out the door in 2009 Right? Then AR only has two years as a SEC guy no other player in 2007 RIGHT? He is a two and done Guy! Trust Me! Tas- Maybe around due to the R/S Then you have a one year class of 2008

Do you get it? Maybe NOT? Only thing I'm saying is they are playing very hard right Now!!

I get they are playing hard but I hope when selecting a coach they are considering the possibility that the team is playing hard because they are a little emotional. And if chosen I hope its not based off of the last two games but let some of the emotions die down say around SEC tournament time then lets judge BP head coaching skills. At this point BP I think BP has to be in the top two, seems like he has a good grip on recruiting (along with $$$$$) and he has a good relationship with the current players and the 08 class. He also know his way around the SEC. Does that mean he’s a good head coach?? I’m not going to say yes or no but after the season I think we will have a better idea then we do now.

I’m not going against what you say cause up to this point you’ve been somewhat of a prophet. I’m just saying lets wait until the end of the season to make BP full time!

At one point in time a couple of years ago, BP was a good choice. Now though I feel he's too entrenched in the old system. We fired JB for a change..a complete change, and BP doesn't represent that especially with coaches like Bennett, Ford, Grant, and Drew out there.

I like Butch, and would support him as coach because the kids like him and he is a good recruiter...and he has paid his dues - but at this point in time it would be like hiring Randy Shannon to take over from Coker. Too close to the situation to be a good idea.

All the players in 2008 class stay they are in for Now! But I’ve been doing this for a while Now AND KIDS DO CHANGE THERE MINDS…. I DO AGREE (BP) is very close to the players But who’s to say that’s Good or Bad?? In this world of Basketball
It takes’s time to make that adjustment to a whole New staff……
