Yeah, I think the sentiment from Pearl was fair. I don't think he was mainly speaking for Brady but hoping schools dont always do this midseason.

The only reason to fire JB now is to get a leg up on hiring a 'name' candidate. If you are right and they promote BP, then it was nothing more than a PR hit to fire him mid stream (in addition to getting BP some experience).

the more i think about it, the reason is to give butch a shot. that is, if bertman isnt lying about not contacting coaches til the end of the season.

if the firing was done at the end of the season, butch would be gone. now at least he has a chance to impress the incoming boss. i wonder if he can get a bigtime recruit to commit, too, to sway the AD-to-be?

Good ponit Gumborue- That's something to chew on????

Now I'm just asking!!! This AD you have Now what kind of guy is he??
I understand he was your baseball coach at one time? Anybody have any ideal who's in-line to replace him. Here's why? Most school would leave
That New coach process up! to the new guy! 1. New AD 2. New Coach

But to allow that to take place Now! It's make's you say!! Hummmmm!
Something not in line... 1.Has he made contact with someone and not telling?
    2. To tell the AP/NEWSWIRE/ESPN/EVERY NEWS OUTLET! That you had your mind made to let him Go after the Tenn Game! Has a lot of folks saying!!!
    Hummmmmm! SOMETHING FISHY HERE??????? Now...............................

Here's what my guys are telling me!! Now DON'T BEAT ME UP! :)

(JB) was not very like at the school and in the Baton rouge area?

(Dale Brown) made a phone call to the AD said the time is Now?

(Dale Brown) and (JB) just don't like each other? He's a (*******) (JB)

(The Old Pres- of the School did not like (JB) On His way out!!!

( Les Miles) are not on the same page!! Not good for a major D-1 program
Football/Baskeball- Head coaches must see eye to eye!!!

(They did not want (JB) to coach the New class! 2008 with the players Now! which will be a very good team next year!!)

The AD is a weak leader! No Balls at all? this was his way of going out on top!!! HIS LAST DANCE!!!

This is not from me...............But the flow of information!! That's coming in.

That all may be true but I wouldn't think that Dale Brown would have any input in the situation. He left the program in ruins. If Brown had left when he should have or JOe Dean had fired him, IMO when Shack left, Brady would never have been the HC. Brown left us with pending probation, no coach with a reputation would touch the job. Brady to his credit came in and took us as far as anyone has. IMO, he acted as if he never felt comfortable and was always on the defensive as if he knew he coudl never meet expectations. He didn't but a lot of it was his doing.

roygu, i agree about dale's lack of pull at LSU.

not sure about bertman, but i'd think he has balls because he fired smoke laval, the guy he trained and hired as baseball coach.

the other reason not to wait for new AD is that they wont be at LSU til June/July. way too late to make a hire.
